If that happened the Shocks would finish with an All-Sports average of 3.20

If Illinois State wins the regular season baseball championship outright and takes 1st place in both the men's and women's Valley T&F Championships then they would edge out the Shocks with a 3.18 average.

That is the only scenario I see that would cost the Shockers another All-Sports Trophy. So technically the Shockers have not absolutely clinched the trophy as of this point in time. However, the chances that they don't win it are probably about the same as someone completing a perfect bracket for the NCAA Basketball Championships.
    So you're saying there's a chance?

Actually, according to my calculations the Shockers clinched the All-Sports Trophy today even with the baseball team losing 2 of 3 to DBU. With MSU being swept by INS the worst the Shocker baseball team can do is finish in a tie for 5th place which would produce 5.5 points.

It would take a 6th place tie by the Shocker baseball team for Illinois State to have even a mathematical chance.

So at this point, no there's not a chance.

I will put up the final totals for All-Teams once the Valley posts the final scores for the Men's T&F Championship.

I can report our Wichita State Shockers have not only repeated as MVC All-Sports Champions but they have established a new record average finish of 2.13 beating the record of 2.30 which the Shocks set last year. The Shocks have now won the AST 8 of the last 11 years.

The Shocks participate in 15 Valley Championships. This year they finished 1st or 2nd in 12 of those Championships including 6 Championships, 2 Co-Championships and 4 runner-up finishes.

Baseball finished 4th, Women's XC 5th and Men's XC 6th for our only finishes out of the top 2.

Fantastic season highlighted by Men's Basketball's undefeated regular season and 1st Valley Tournament win in St. Louis.

Congratulations to every member of the Shocker Athletic Department, all of our great Coaches and most of all to all of our fantastic student athletes.

Hey, leave the mothers out of this, okay!
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.
