  • Dallas Tip-Off Games

I saw this article this morning and have to say that at first, I thought it was going to be negative. After reading the second paragraph I was relieved. More good press and I'd love to see the Shox get into the Dallas Tip-Off. Looks like the Athletic Dept has got some allies in the media helping them with their cause.

Yeah, I thought about that as well, especially his "improvable" remark. Hmmm, how about, "improbable" although for those of us believers, none of us thought the run was improbable.

According to a tweet from Paul Suellentrop, it's doubtful the Shockers will get in this set of games.

I thought the same thing. I also took exception to the question the article is supposed to answer: "should Wichita State be ALLOWED . . ." What? Is there some rule that says you have to meet some criteria to play the first game of the season? I know his answer was "yes", WSU should be allowed, but it's still a stupid, lame thing to say or ask. Find a better title and opening. Sheesh.

I like the unintended "improvable" more than "improbable"--we just need to make the finals or win it all to show the expected improvement!

So LSU will play Texas, not us. Isn't that cute.

LSU is tired of getting it handed it to them by our Shocks.

The article was written in May.

Correct, Shaux. It was supposed to be LSU-Texas, but that game fell by the wayside, which was why the Shocks supposedly were under consideration in the first place. No reason to think the LSU-Texas game is back on, so WSU's chances aren't dead yet. (Although who could blame LSU for being a little wary at this point?)

LSU has NO reason to he weary, other than previous commitments.

Their schedule is released, so no surprises there.

Many variables come into play with neutral court games, many of which are never made public. Sometimes, no matter how much two teams want to play, things just dont work out.

A three month old article written before Texass backed out?
"Hank Iba decided he wouldn't play my team anymore. He told me that if he tried to get his team ready to play me, it would upset his team the rest of the season." Gene Johnson, WU Basketball coach, 1928-1933.

Dream is dead.... But nice to have a scrimmage with Baylor!

"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!
