I think what Redbird! meant was "don't forget who was supposed to recruit players to WSU over the last couple years, but only did for one year, and got the only one he was fully responsible for to defect to his new school."

Now that you mention it, I may have been thinking about Drake losing all of their shooters. Or was it Evansville? Maybe it's time for me to brush up on rosters.

Sign the waiver. Fear no one. If one player is the difference between us and success we are not as good as we think. Sign the waiver. No excuses of ifs and buts. Play angry.

It is such things as the latter to why I am content with the former.

The more I've read, the more I think there is nothing to discuss. The MVC is subordinate to the NCAA, and the NCAA is who determines the rules on LOI's. The MVC can have stricter rules regarding LOI's, transfers and such, but at the end of the day, the NCAA determines what is a valid LOI. In Hawkins situation, based on NCAA rules, his LOI is not binding because he was ineligible. In other words, his LOI doesn't count. As such, the Valley has no grounds or basis to restrict or penalize Hawkins for a LOI that according to NCAA rules, is invalid. The NCAA determines what is a valid LOI, not the conference. Had Hawkins been eligible when he signed, and the LOI binding, it would be a different story.

There really isn't a story here, just a poorly written and researched piece out of Normal, Illinois. That should surprise nobody.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Do not sign the waiver. Be a dick. Wear the hat.

These guys don't fear anyone. Giving him a waiver or not doesn't affect that.

Yup. The Trees should be quite good this season. Lots of experience, and they were very solid last season until the last season collapse.

I think Loyola will be better than most suspect. Not GOOD better, but better.

Odum and Arop are as good a tandem in the MVC as any. They have a nice group of role players to fill out the team. They lose their best offensive big as a transfer, but Gant is decent and they had a freshman with promise. Also they brought in a 6-11, 280 lb JUCO with promise…for when they play the Shockers.

i'll go with that for now.

that kid from tennessee, bowles.. he isn't going to red-shirt, right? even with what the shockers return? the valley deserves a good solid look at him next year draining threes on their home court. that freshman.
