So If I read that right, Marshall made a minimum of $1.555 million last year and maybe more depending on how the $125,000 per year is figured (the $1.555 is based on just adding $125,000) If the $125,000 grows by that amount each year then he could have made much much more maybe something like $625,000 more (depending on when that feature was added to his contract).

Take the dough saved from Mean Gene and give to Jans and other assistants.

Not saving anything this next year as we are paying Gene in addition to new coaching staff. So we are actually another $300k (+bonues earned, if any) in the hole after firing Gene. We may save a few bucks replacing JT with Brian Wilson.

There were several concerned about UCLA when Ben Howland was let go. Howland was reported to be making about $2.3M. A cost of living calculator I found says if you earn $1.73M in Wichita, KS, you would need to be making $2.68M in Los Angeles. Ouch! Adjusted, HC3GM makes more here than he would have made at UCLA and who wants to put their kids in schools in California (even private ones)? Not me.

The California cost of living and level of taxation is atrocious. The things Wu mentions would be enough to keep anyone here...one would think.

I believe HCGM is recruiting away like a guy who plans to be here a while--and knows his success will be compensated for.

I have no concern with HCGM's salary, he isn't leaving WSU unless he goes to a top5 school. However I would like to see another couple hundred thousand dumped into support staff. That and if I have one legitimate complaint...the quality of the online steam......I could do it better with a 300 dollar laptop, free wifi, and my Iphone....
