Many of you teased me when i dawned the Israel Flag cape that Gal gave me. And many of you booed him and strongly disliked him when he played for us. Well guess what! http://espn.go.com/dallas/nba/story/...multiyear-deal

I don't recall such an outpouring of animosity toward Gal or any player. Could you please provide more information on such behavior?

If memory serves me well, gal was quite the scapegoat when we lost. He was strongly disliked here on this board and at the games was often booed. Some of it was def deserved as he turned the ball over quite a bit. I dont think gal is really suited to play in the Mo Valley, where we grind out every possession and the defense never lets up. (unless you were playing Creighton of course)

Exciting times! With all the interest he might have held out for a better than minimum deal, but at his age the situation is probably as important as the money.

Still has the unorthodox, slow jump shot. Hoping for the best for him.

              Often booed is an exaggeration.

We all wish him well and sincerely look forward to him representing WSU in the NBA this season. Good luck Gal!

How many years has it been and you're still bitter about what people said on a message board? Let it go.

Gal had his faults and his quirks, but I don't remember him getting booed by "many".

If anything the frustration was caused by Gal's obvious potential not being realized at Wichita State.

Yep, a petty and annoying way to deliver otherwise great news.

It will be fantastic finally having a true WSU guy in the NBA. I expect he'll be joined by several others very shortly.

If you knew Rip, you wouldn't be surprised with the delivery. And remember, this is the same poster that flipped off the cameras in STL every time it tried to take a shot of our student section. That and multiple F bombs had students all around him quite annoyed. So presenting this info in this way should surprise nobody.

And Gal wasn't booed like you say. Others have pointed out why he was frustrating to fans, but we all saw the potential in him. You're still bitter because nobody liked you wearing the flag as a cape. How long has it been? Get over it.

Caoch Turgeon once said that Gal was the kind of player that could get you to the Final Four.

He was sort of half right.

I will watch a regular season NBA game with interest for the first time in years when Dallas is on the tube this fall.

I've said it before but I'll say it again.....I enjoyed watching Gal during his time here, even if his jump shot release was the slowest ever recorded by man, and even when he went baseline and jumped out of bounds looking for someone to pass to, even if that someone had Evansville across their chest. He was a player and just needed some more time to develop. Time, unfortunately, his father decided should be spent elsewhere. His last few games in a Shocker uniform you could tell he was "getting it".

I wish him the best...he's a good kid and fun to watch.

Ok, I'll admit it. I'm stunned.

Congrats to Gal! I hope he does well!

So Gal will presumably back up Collison, right?

That seems like a great roster spot. Collison is injury prone and really hot or cold...Gal should get good minutes off the bench.
