I'm not getting nervous until I start seeing comments in the media that the two sides aren't working things out.

I agree. I am not a big fan of AD Sexton yet, but I cannot imagine that he would drop the ball on this issue.

Just think about it. Can you imagine the explosion that would occur, if Coach Marshall left because of a contract dispute? No way, Cold. (Cold = Jose.)

Off topic and silly, Go. You talk about how you should have expected a strong reaction during the summer, but if anything this is just your own overreaction to summer boredom and impatience. You're speculating without a hint of evidence, just on the basis of what you consider a plausible inference, and by doing so can accomplish nothing but generate rumors to be passed along by the fearful and gullible, or the wannabe insiders.

Ricky's dismissive explanations are at least as plausible as yours. Personally, I'm hoping that one of the causes for the "delay" is lining up funding for additional budget for HCGM's assistant coaching salaries, which is also as plausible as your illusory concern if not more so, and that's something that just popped into my head as I was sitting here typing. It isn't hard to find reasons that don't involve worrisome hangups if you try.

I wasn't being dismissive. I merely suggested that there may a myriad of reasons that a new contract had not been consumated.

Besides, I always "sniff" before I am dismissive, which I did not do.

I wonder if Forbes hiring changed the whole dynamic of Marshal's contract. One that may have been close to being done at that time. Not only Forbe's salary as opposed to Turner's, but results-based conditions that may be the result of a different and higher level of recruit--and hence, success.

of course it will get done. it's such a great opportunity for all parties involved. but contracts can have a way of taking time to get fleshed out. that's all.

i look forward to this because of the mans coaching ability, and not just his recruiting prowess. he will be a very successfull head coach someday imo. watch his coaching seminars on youtube. it's kind of like there are two gregg marshalls on staff now. "you've got the green light. everybody has the green light.. as long as you defend like your hair is on fire." great minds think alike.
