I created a subreddit (r/shockers) for those of you who are on there. I really did it so I had an easy way to create gifs (gif bots are nice) without spamming other subs, because they will enhance the conversation here. It also might be an easy way to pull in fans of other schools for discussion. (Cold, you are welcome on there, as c0|d b|00ded. I would welcome you with open arms.) It is mainly for Basketball discussion, but all posts concerning WSU are welcome.

Reddit is a social news website that is centered around content (gifs, news, discussion, etc) rather than users. Content is posted in an appropriate subreddit, or "sub." A user selects which subs he or she would like to subscribe to and then sees the content for those subs, sorted by user voting. By creating a /r/shockers subreddit (it's called /r/shockers because the url is reddit.com/r/shockers) we now have a category to specifically discuss shocker athletics.

If I'm not explaining things too well, just go to Reddit.com there you will see a long list of content, from a default subscription of popular subreddits.

Better explanation than I could do: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reddit

/r/collegebasketball is a decent place to talk to fans of other programs without most of the homerism and unfriendliness that pops up on team forums. Based on my experience thus far, the mods and community do a good job keeping discussions civil and constructive.

#1 key to Reddit is surrounding yourself with the content you love. It's all controlled through the home screen, which aggregates all of your subreddits you subscribe to. When you create an account, it defaults a number of very active subreddits to your account. Most are interesting and staples you should have like r/pics. However I will warn you that there a few subs that are just plain awful (to me, personal preferences you know) which default, like r/atheism and r/wtf. But you can change which subs you're subscribed to, so first thing is figure out which ones to go, and which ones to keep. Then you can go and explore new subs to fit your tastes.

            Some favorites of mine:

            r/mildlyinteresting
r/historyporn (it's not really porn, just cool history stuff)
            r/ColorizedHistory
            r/OldSchoolCool
            r/space
            r/worldnews
