Deep runs are very tough to predict -- we had a great team last year, and couldn't get past (an underseeded) VCU. Gonzaga had a great team this year that would have done very well if they didn't run into an underseeded WSU ;) Gonzaga's had a great team for a long time and haven't made many long runs.

But we're going to have a great team. Replacing Hall and Malcolm will be very difficult, but I'm spoiled by Marshall's ability to reload and I'm going to have full confidence in his ability to do so until he gives me a reason to doubt him. We have more returning next year than either of the last two years, and the last two years have been great teams. I'm extremely excited about this team ... we're going to be loaded, angry, and with new swagger that's going to run through the entire season.

We might review this thread in March 2014.

I think I heard that last year.

It will be another upgrade for Marshall just like this year. We'll be better outside shooters and have better inside players. We won't be able to get back the defense we had this year with the loss of the four seniors, but we will still have Cotton. And Coleby is supposed to be pretty good on defense and is a lot better on offense than what EO was.

I'm going to wait until Mike Kennedy tells me what he thinks. Last year he told me we were going to be better than the previous year and as anyone can remember thats what I posted after he told me. So I'm just going to believe we will be even better but wait until Mike tells me so. WWMT

According to pre draft measurements Carl is listed as 6'6". The pre-draft nba measurements are bare feet. Most basketball players don't play bare footed however. Not sure how Colleges handle this but probably stretch this a little. Interesting other stats for Carl and more important are wingspan at 6'11 1/2" and reach at 8'8". Did not see a stat that measured Carl's heart tho.

In the April 19 Wichita Business Journal, there’s a ‘Profile’ on WSU Alumni Association’s president and CEO Debbie Kennedy (aka Mike’s wife). She says the following, “Now, nobody is going to believe this because it’s after the fact, but I knew we were going to make the Final Four. So I was always one step ahead in planning. People would say, “Debbie, you’re going to jinx us.” But we had a great team; you could just see that.”

                          WWDT?

This probably deserves a thread of its own, however I’m going to lump it in here. A special thanks to Debbie Kennedy, the staff of the Wichita State Alumni Association and Premiere Global Sports for the outstanding job they did with organizing the charter travel packages. Additionally, the Alumni Association pep rally was one of the highlights of the Final Four. Koch Industries and Koch owned Georgia Pacific also deserve special thanks for sponsoring the pep rally.

He's bigger than Charles Barkley. I think a guy like Carl could get a spot in the NBA given the chance. He reminds me a lot of former Kentucky player and former Houston Rocket, Chuck Hayes.

that was 6-7 months ago. That year is virtually over.

He walked on in 12-13, but is expected to receive a scholarship in 13-14.
