Of course. Corrected. Good catch. I must have been thinking of KSU's non-conference schedule when I typed that.

Guys, I'd love home and home games with KU and KSU. It'd be exciting and a lot of fun for the state. That being said it's not worth trying to hard to make it happen when there is a whole College basketball Universe out there that will play WSU.

I'd like to play K-State, because I think they'd be fun games for the state.

Realistically, though, we already know we're better than K-State, and it's not even a comparison in which of us has the better coach. We're going to be seen as the #2 program in the state whether we beat K-State directly or not.

I really don't think it's even worth worrying about the possibility of the game happening, though. If it does, great. If not, does it matter? If anything, K-State is the one that needs this game to happen ... we're going to leave them in our dust in NCAA tournaments in the future. Their only hope of keeping up the impression of being bigger than us for in-state recruits will be beating us on the court.

I see nothing to gain from playing ksu. When was the last time ksu landed a hot recruit from the Wichita area? Of course we can hold up Ron Baker as landing a recruit from THEIR area. I know there are more than a handful of ksu folks rolling over in the fields because one of their own is at WSU. Actually I see nothing to gain from playing that other school up north that shall remain nameless. As was pointed out we can get to where we want to go without playing either one. And really! A classless coach after Francisco Martinez blistering the paint in the octodon and his shark like eyes boring holes into any player that came up short. Caught his act at s carolina this year on espn highlights. Classy.

KSU fans think they would have nothing to gain and everything to lose by playing WSU. I guess that's why they lost to 13-seed LaSalle. If they win that game, they would have had to play WSU. That would be everything to lose and nothing to gain, so they had to throw the game to LaSalle to avoid the "everything to lose" game against WSU.

Or is it that LaSalle was significantly better than KSU and WSU was significantly better than LaSalle?

Some of us appear to have an acute (hopefully) case of elitism, much like our northern brethren. Look, we should play with some regularity both KU and KSU because it's the right thing to do. The three D1's in Kansas should play one another. Two have to play each other. It is just good for college basketball. Nothing more, nothing less. Forget about board of regents BS. Forget about perceived recruiting advantages or disadvantages. Forget about perceived financial gains or fall outs. Just play. Put egos aside. Give about 45 players, 12 coaches, 3 AD's and 3 proud fan bases the stage to put their respective programs to the test. Do it because it's right.

The 3 d1 schools should play each other. It just makes too much sense for us to.

But they need to STOP pretending like they're this big MAJOR program because they had Beasley play there one year. Congrats on the current success. But ours ahs been more longstanding.

The flaw in what you have proposed (and I am not in disagreement with it) is your comment "Put egos aside." D-1 coaches can be really great guys but they all have HUGE egos. Much easier said than done. I really do think this business of "they (being KU and KSU) are too chicken to play us" is bull. It's all about finance and about perception. And Big and Little Brother are not going to give little ole country bumpkin cousin any credit (except maybe by word of mouth because they would look really bad saying we are a lousy team after our FF run). I say just let it rest. If it happens, it happens, but I really don't care anymore. Our guys put Wichita State on the map and if we can repeat to the Dance and advance some the next couple of years, we will have made our point that we are not a one-hit wonder. We need to just do it.

What's with the "classless coach" comment in the first section? Are we that far removed from Hug's thugs and drugs or the maniacal sideline antics of Frank Martin that they can take pot shots at our coach? I would agree that this is a game that would be fun to see played, and should be played, but we have certainly shown that we don't need this game at all. I don't want to radiate the same elitist attitude that frustrates me about KU fans but when K-State approaches this series as if it would be privilage for us to be able to play them I say who needs them. Bottom line is they should agree to a home and home arrangement and just play the games. Again, not to sound like a KU snob but the truth is K-State would benefit by playing us just as much as we would benefit by playing them. The comment section is hilarious too. If they had played us and won we probably wouldn't have made the final four? What? Do we need to remind them that we ripped through La Salle like it was an exhibition game? The same La Salle that they couldn't get past? Oh well, I suppose if they want to see our 2013 final four banner they could bring their team down to Wichita next year and view it in person.

KSU... why would anyone want to play them? That is a joke of a program in a joke of a conference. Eff them and KU. Shox will be great next year and they can both just deal with it.

                          Heeeeere kitty, kitty, kitty.
I used to really care about the other KS schools playing WSU.
About the time idiot inlaws picked on my 10 year old daughter about KU being better, I quit caring.
I'm suck if these Hs dropouts. My kid held her own against these idiots. And the results speak for themselves.
BTW, I thought there was justice when the in laws bought WSU final 4 shirts. They thought they were honoring me & the WSU bandwagon, except they don't understand the black market. $3.00 WSU shirts for them!

Hearing the Louisville fans talk about the disrespect they get from Kentucky put things into perspective for me. Kentucky won't play freakin' 3-time NC Louisville. Kansas will NEVER play us if that is any indication. And why do we care? Let's go all Louisville on them instead.

I know Louisville plays all kind of state schools, including a non-division 1 school here in the city... It was state mandated at first, but it hasn't been for a while.

Kentucky and Louisville play EVERY year for state bragging rights... Everyone in the state loves it!

And FYI... The disrespect is from both sides! I hear it every day during the season...
