Turns out Hess officiated two WSU games this year - Tennessee and Louisville. Unbiased observers called the officiating in the Tennessee game "embarrassing" and said "It's too bad the pros took the game away from the amateurs". That was the game where the officials kept Early on the bench with some questionable foul calls.

The ACC/FSU side of my Twitter feed was going off against Hess. Started before the game, but was going crazy by the end of it. Hess is a joke and has been widely recognized as being so for a while.

Maybe he has a history of favoring teams that CBS would be most likely to want to advance? Maybe I'm overly cynical, but why wouldn't the NCAA provide officials most in line with the result CBS wants?
