Also, that is the contract with WSU's ICAA. He might have more than one contract. Maybe he has a contract with WSU proper? Maybe the Foundation?
If I recall what you do for a living, then I don't want to get into a legalese argument with you as I'd certainly lose badly.

That said, the file in the link above includes the full 2011 contract, and the 2012 amendment. The file just leads in order with the amendment. The 2012 amendment (where I pulled the figures above) mentions that it replaces the same section in the 2011 original contract. Meaning the section outlining salary metrics in the amendment replaces in entirety the same section in the original contract.

In the original contract there is a section dedicated to Marshall's free ability to earn additional self-employment income from outside media/endorsement/camp deals.

This is as good a thread to put this under as any of the others. My wife and I was visiting her oncologist today and he is a BIG Gregg Marshall fan. We were talking about the program and he stated " He needs to get paid whatever it takes because he has done so much for Wichita". I thought he meant WSU but he said "No. Wichita". I guess he played a little basketball himself and he thought the gameplans that 3G came up with during the ncaa's were great. Each one tailored to the specific team. He also pointed out how much the city seemed to pull together to support this team. Cant buy that kind of love. Well you can but its illegal in most of the US. Not saying 3G doesn't get paid well but I thought it was interesting to hear another perspective.

        3G's Salary

I saw a similar thread to this six to eight months ago here somewhere. Someone pointed out that Gregg Marshall's salary ranked #22 in the U.S. among all Div 1 college basketball coaches. I suppose if we scrolled down far enough here, we could find that data somewhere. If someone recalls that info, it would be worth verifying here once again.

http://www.lansingstatejournal.com/i...aches-salaries A $200k to 500k raise in order. Why, I believe you need to equal Few's salary to truely reward HCGM.200 to 300K to be with Shaka

Might I ask you why your were drawn to post in a thread entirely dedicated to debunking unreliable media salary figures on Marshall, and then proceed to make references to his salary via a media source?

The salary figures for Marshall via your link are incorrect, as are the resulting margins between other 3G peer coaches like Smart and Few. That's making the assumption that the figures for those guys in the link are even correct in the first place, which in and of itself is a massive if.

I'm all for discussion of Marshall's income based on his actual contract, easily available above, and I'm game that my interpretation might be in error. What I might find a little perplexing are media links that take us right back to the position that drove me to create this thread in the first place.

                2. Wichita State athletic director Eric Sexton said Saturday night he is negotiating to continue the seven-year rollover contract with head coach Gregg Marshall. He also said he will likely stuff the contract with new incentives. Marshall has a great deal in Wichita and is essentially king of the mountain there. He now has the best job in the Missouri Valley Conference with the departure of Creighton to the new Big East. Marshall is no fool. He won't leave for a job that wouldn't put him in a winning situation and he doesn't need to go to a program that is rebuilding. I wouldn't be surprised to see Marshall stay at Wichita to make another run.
                1. We all jump ahead on coaching searches as soon as someone is out and Rutgers is no exception. But this situation is unique. It's hard to project for certain if Rhode Island's Danny Hurley, Lakers assistant Eddie Jordan or anyone else is the favorite when the school has no athletic director.
Kansas is Flat. The Earth is Not!!

                  Gregg knows what he's got

This year, many so-called big time schools keep getting rejected by Shaka Smart, Brad Stevens and Gregg Marshall. Why? Because they can't offer "the good life, man."

That all makes sense. I still think it is possible he has a contract or compensation from another WSU related entity, or WSU itself.

Creighton is a GREAT job, if you like playing in the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament only.

Doesn't that fall under the vacation / personal time off clauses of Creighton's contract?
