I'm just as excited as the rest of you as to what we can build on this final four run. That being said, I want to go the way of VCU and Butler, not GMU. VCU/Butler made the most of their run by continuing to improve their product -- not so much with George Mason. Being preseason ranked wherever is far better than not being mentioned at all. It keeps our name out there. And remember, these so-called experts don't follow WSU closely and really have no idea the caliber of kids we have coming in. These new guys still have to mesh with the remaining team and mesh well and that is always an unknown. I'm happy being preseason ranked in the top 25 and I would rather we be ranked lower and work our way up than be ranked high and fall.

I want Wichita State to carve their own way and not go the way of any other team. Wichita State is heading towards a new frontier of basketball. Take that for whatever you want it to mean.

I'm looking for the crop of seniors to all be greatly improved from this season to next. Marshall said in an article that jucos are hungry and have less time to prove what they can do. Well, we have a few guys who underachieved (probably in their own minds) or didn't play this year who can't exactly leave unless they go down a level. It's all or nothing for them, starting right now.

Lufile, Wiggins, Coleby, Early are your senior class.

As a rule of thumb, as we gaze back on Shocker History with 3G, our Juco players do indeed have improved Senior Seasons. Coleby only plays one Season for us but it will be well worth if for our Shockers because he did practice with us for a Season and I get elated just hearing 3G describing his game. When you lose players as solid as Hall and Armstud, we need solid players to take the baton and continue to move us forward.

I'm not well versed in the process of players leaving, but it seems that the time to leave is now rather than later in the year to give that player the best shot to find another program. Since no further developments other than JW has arose, does anyone think a player paying his own way is what will happen and who could it be?

I'm excited that we will have an improved outside shooting team next Season. There could be games our Offense, still at times fueled by our Defense, will be on fire. The question becomes, how do you replace Hall and Armstead? We will do it by committee. We will have maybe our deepest team ever even though this won't be as an experienced team as the last 2 Seasons. Will our Defense be as good? Even though we will be missing our best 'steals' player in Shocker History, Mr. Armstud, overall we should be strong on D. Will our interior Defense be as good missing Hall? Coleby, Shaq, and Carter will be solid and Chadrack should be improved. I hope there are a few open practices next Season to witness because we could field 2 very, very, very good Valley Teams with this squad.

21. Gonzaga: The Bulldogs could've been much higher than this if Kelly Olynyk had decided to stay in school, but he's headed to the NBA. Still, coach Mark Few still has Kevin Pangos, Gary Bell, Jr. and David Stockton returning in the backcourt. The development of 7-foot center Przemek Kamowski will be key.

20. Wichita State: Coach Gregg Marshall has built a program of power in the Missouri Valley Conference and with his high energy style it’s hard to imagine the Shockers slipping after their Final Four run. Carl Hall and Malcolm Armstead will be lost but leading scorer Cleanthony Early has All-American potential and Ron Baker gained valuable experience during the postseason.
