  • Mitch Holhus will be on 810WBH talking about the Shox

Don't know the exact time. Think they might have said in the final hour, which would be between 5pm and 6pm, but could be wrong and they could be on before 5. I expect it to be a great conversation.

By the way. KK was talking to Jack Harry earlier and was still on the bandwagon big time. He made some comments which could be misunderstood or take out of context. He basically said that being in the Final 4 was a bigger deal to WSU than an national championship for KU. That should not be taken as an "at this level" remark. He acknowledged that it is MUCH harder for a non-BCS team to get there. They won't land Perry Ellis, even though he lives 6 miles from campus (at least not this year...), etc. I am sure he will make similar comments, but they aren't meant to be a slight... He' pretty pumped. Said we have already won... even if we lose Saturday by 20 - and he didn't say we would lose.

Yeah KK has been very supportive and complimentary to the Shockers. I wouldn't what he's saying as a slight.

        Another great interview with Mitch.

Mitch says WSU is now at another level or is at least set up to be there (Gonzaga, Butler, VCU). Same for the coach.

Podcast will be available in the next hour or so...

          Ya know.

Mitch touched on something and I can't remember specifics. But when GM first got here, the Valley kept wanting to treat him like a red headed step child. I don't remember all the crap, but I remember him putting up with an inordinate amount ****. Laughs behind his back, and WSU being giggled at. At least that's the impression that sticks in my mind. Everything was hunky dory in the Valley when the Shox were losing. And I kept remembering, a sense that they can keep doing it. Because GM is gonna get this **** turned around. And when he does, they are gonna be pissed and not like him. They are then going to be in for it, because Marshall is gonna remember how he was treated early on, and when the shoe was on the other foot, he is gonna be the guy, and WSU is gonna be a program, that will be able to dominate the conference year in and year out. And that Marshall will have no problem adopting a scorched earth philosophy as long as WSU prospers.

I think all this talk about his personality now, is the by product of his unwillingness to take all the **** they were shovelling his way during the early years in the Valley.

And it wouldn't surprise me if part of Marshall doesn't want to stay in the Valley just out of spite, in order to make sure that no one gets a shot at the conference title while he plays bully of the league.

Yeah, just tired of the 'who hates Gregg Marshal" angle they keep harping on. It's so girly gossip. Cone on, who cares?! There are too many great stories with this team that should be covered instead of this junior high girl talk about who doesmt like who. I texted the show.

Living well (in the Valley) is the best revenge.

Nothing sweeter than to succeed where they don't want you to.. But like it or not, without Greg and WSUs money, the Valley has no flagship team. Everyone else needs to understand that the rising tide (wake created by our big-ass motorboat) lifts all boats..

How many coaches like Bobby Knight?

When Marshall got to WSU, he had more NCAA games under his belt than all but a very few MVC coaches. He had a better national reputation than most Valley coaches. He was getting paid 3 times as much as many Valley coaches. He had turned down jobs that some Valley coaches would have taken in a heartbeat. And there he was coaching against them. With what to many Valley coaches looked like an unlimited recruiting budget.

Yeah, that's the way you get people to "like" you.
