Soren Petro on 610 Sports

Didn't catch the front end of the call, but some Shocker fan called in apparently complaining about the Shox being a Cinderella team. Soren definitely had an attitude towards the caller - based on his comeback sounded like the caller was a bit too thin skinned and may have been pissing and moaning and trowing (or trying to throw) the KU loss into the conversation.

Soren commented - this is exactly why KU and KState will never play WSU - because of callers and attitudes like this.

Should note that before the call Soren was being complimentary about the Shox (abeit the Cinderella references) about how compelling the Final 4 was and how the Shockers were definitely part of that compelling story.

Did anyone else hear the call? Guess I will check for podcast later...

But to come across all butt hurt about being called one just makes others like Soren validate their preconceived notions about us. Bob Lutz is right to say we need to take the high road. Totally agree. Like I said, I didn't get to hear the caller, just the response, but the response fits what you describe

We just need to let our wins do our talking for us. Until/unless Marshall is here another 5 years and continues to show up in the tourney consistently, nothing will change the perceptions, if ever. We just need to ignore the ignorance of others. It can actually work to our advantage.

Without hearing the callers comment, it's difficult to know if Soren Petrovich was the over reacting idiot or the caller was the problem was over reacting to the Cinderella lable. If you were switching radio frequencies, how do you know just how complimentary toward WSU SP was. Is SP ever a hawk apologist in the KC market? He probably plays to ratings too.

Nice comments from Soren around the 3 minute mark. At the 28-29 minute mark, the WSU fan calls in and leads with his chin quoting NIT berths, private planes, and taking exception to the Cinderella mark... He called in looking for a fight and got it...

Funny comment by Soren "if you want to call in on the big boy show, quoting your NIT berths then..."

One of other hosts "I would love for my team to get slighted as they head to the Final Four" (I am guessing he was a Mizzou fan)
