Why FS? They had a rather non-descript season.
Honestly, Florida State is mostly in it because both of his parents were sports stars at FSU. Their father (Mitchell Wiggins) was an NBA player who starred at FSU, and married I believe an FSU Women's Volleyball star. Actually, Andrew's best friend since childhood signed his LOI for FSU as well ... interestingly, their dad's played together at FSU, then in the NBA, and then I believe lived near one another in Toronto, where Andrew and Xavier Rathan Mayes grew up together and are now on the same AAU basketball team. And, as I said, I think Andrew should go to a defense-minded HC, and Coach Hamilton is an elite defensive coach (not that the freshmen caught on this year).
Last year's success doesn't always have that much of an important role. Especially when Andrew is theoretically between FSU, Kentucky, Kansas, and UNC ... none of which it past the Sweet 16, and two of which lost in the first round of the NIT. FSU had a very young team this year, so they would be positioned to do very well with Andrew next year ... and of course Kentucky would have the great recruiting class of all time with him, with the #1 recruit at every position.
Adding Andrew to everyone we have coming back next year, though ... we would be the #2 team in the preseason polls behind Kentucky. Without a doubt.
For the record, he called our upset of Gonzaga.Last edited by Rlh04d; March 31, 2013, 04:58 AM.Originally posted by BleacherReportFred VanVleet on Shockers' 3-Pt Shooting Confidence -- ' Honestly, I just tell these guys to let their nuts hang.'

Wiggins said he is being recruited by Oregon, Villanova, Wichita St., Pittsburgh and Baylor. Wiggins said that right now Wichita State and Oregon are at the top of his list. Wichita St. and Baylor have offered. He will take his official visits after the season ends and make his decision.Originally posted by BleacherReportFred VanVleet on Shockers' 3-Pt Shooting Confidence -- ' Honestly, I just tell these guys to let their nuts hang.'

Someone I knew recently spoke with Nick about Andrew, and according to this source Nick said that nobody at WSU has even contacted Andrew about coming here? Can this be possible that we have not even tried? With his reclassification to 2013 there is just no way that AW hasn't at least considered the possibilities.

I guess we can only dream what cornering the #1 draft choice in the country would do for GM's already significant recruiting program!
Make it happen, Andrew! Not only will you be great for us, but you will be a hero-for-life once you make the decision to be a Wichita State Shocker.
