We didn't schedule Pitt, Gone-Zaga or La Salle. It was mandated by the same organization that penalized us dearly in the '80's. Sorry basketball nation, we play who we are told to play...and we play ANGRY...

It doesn't matter. The fact that it's Wichita State in the Elite 8 is the reason that this is happening. If a Big East or Big 12 team had done what we've done, they would have earned the Elite 8. To us, we had an easy path. The excuses can't continue if we beat OSU.

We've already had a great season but we're not satisfied.

I'm definitely not saying there's any logic to it. But Gonzaga's name makes it easier to dismiss their seed to casual/ignorant fans that don't pay attention to anything other than the names on the jerseys. Also beating a "no-name" like La Salle ... we would have gotten more credit if we'd beaten Kansas State, even though La Salle did it for us, which would imply that they're BETTER.

We could have beaten much higher seeds and worse teams with bigger names and gotten more credit for it. Just the way casual fans work.

Don't know if this was mentioned before, but we continue to add to the history books:

Wichita State's win over LaSalle represented the first EVER matchup between a 9 seed and a 13 seed.

Our matchup against Ohio State will be the first ever #9 vs. #2 match up in tournament history.

That seems odd. You would think that it would have happened before now. There have been alot of NCAA tourney games over the years.
