Battle Of New Orleans, Part 1. More to come, but not tonight. Getting late. Tired.

This should have been one of the best nights of my life. I grew up a huge Jayhawk fan and this was so excited to get a chance to play them in the Sweet 16. Then I came so close to being the biggest goat in WSU history that I was not even able to enjoy the victory. Brings back bad memories seeing those final few seconds. Thanks for posting. All that matters is the final score, and what you did to get your team there.

Its a GREAT day to be a Shocker!!

You're most welcome! The rest of the game I have processed for the web, just need to upload them, which I plan on doing this evening. GO SHOCKS!

Jay- Take a look at the footage and the KU player throwing the ball in steps on the end-line before the contact...VIOLATION,you have been vindicated. By the way, can you tell us whatever happened to Mike Jones, I believe his dad had worked in administration at a small college back east but never heard anything on Mike.

Longest 2 seconds of all time...and what ever happened to that rule you have to call it within 3 seconds on the 5 count I remember that rule but it surely doesn't apply now a days.

The SN refs can answer that question.

I would like to see a 12 or 13 second limit to both get the ball inbounds AND across mid-court line. If a time out is called after the count falls below seven, then reset to seven to cross mid-court.

That rule was before my time. I have no clue

It used to be that the ball had to be touched by someone inbounds within 5 seconds. Once that got changed to it only needing to leave the hand of the inbounder, I think the 3-second rule was dumped.

Had never seen him step on the end line. Thank you for noticing this. Mike's brother, Jeff, was one of our asst. coaches. Mike married Denise Franklin who used to be on TV in Wichita. I believe they moved to DC at one time, but have not heard from him. He did not come back for the MTXE reunion. Go SHOCKERS!!! Jay

I was in college at this time and we had a Jay Jackson, no frills fan club. My fraternity was seriously into basketball and I played with Randy on Saturday mornings at Henrion Gym. I have said Jake needs to channel his inner Jay Jackson! You had a cousin Valerie that was at WSU at the same time who I remember as being very intelligent and talented. Glad you posted, because I assure you, those of us who followed the team appreciated all of the things you did every night on the hallowed floor of Henry Levitt Arena. Be well!
