The Shox were a 9 seed WITHOUT Baker. Take a 9 seed and add a player with sky-high BBIQ, who scores about 10, grabs about 4 boards, gets 2 assists, and a steal, and plays D - the Shox are a little bit better than a 9 seed. With a healthy season fr Baker, the Shox probably could have been a 4 seed, aand they're playing like one - or maybe a bit better than a 4 seed.

I thought it was interesting that with the game on the line and Gonzaga certain to foul immediately, the ball was inbounded to VanVleet. The go-to guy at crunch time was a Fr!

Doc was right in the thread where we were speculating if Baker could even rehab in time to have any impact this season. Doc said (approximately) "he'll be back and he's PISSED". Baker is definitely playing angry. In his Fr year he recovered from an injury just in time to lead the team to a S16.

How unusual is it to have 2 Fr (even McD AA's) with the talent and composure to carry a team when a couple of Sr's are off their game?

that's not right garylee. A stretch 4 is a big forward with the ability to play the perimeter, ala Kyle Wilson, etc. It is not simpy inserting a 3 man at the 4 position.

I've tried my best to explain the offense and the rational but, at this point, don't expect you to believe me sooooo, I suggest you google it and learn from the experts

A four guard offense doesn't have a stretch 4. It has FOUR guards. And just because a PF is capable of shooting from outside, doesn't make him a SF playing PF. I've tried to simplify it as much as possible. Perhaps you should do some Google research of your own.

Again, I think we are splitting hairs and were not that far apart, but it only stands to reason that with what ever you call it the traditional PF ( a banger, rebounder, defender and screener - NOT usually a good shooter ) is replaced with a smaller player with perimeter skills.
