I think that I can speak for our fanbase when I say that we have nothing but respect for the Gonzaga fanbase and program. Everything I have heard from your fans demonstrates great basketball knowledge. Your program has been and will be good for college basketball. As much as I am glad to beat the #1 team in the country (and you were deservedly the #1 team no matter what the naysayers say), I wish that we could have been meeting later in the tournament so that the story could have accurately been about how good the basketball outside of the BCS conferences is instead of idiotic speculation about Gonzaga being over-rated.

It is amazing though that we not only knocked off a #1 seed but also the #1 team in the AP and Coaches poll. And the voting isn't even close. Gonzaga is clearly the #1 team in the nation. Louisville got the overall #1 seed in the tourney however that works out. Just for giggles, pay attention to "others receiving votes". We received one vote in the coaches poll and knocked off the #1 team in the country. Crazy...

WSU and Kentucky each have one vote, one team lost in NIT to Robert Morris and the other beat the #1 seed and #1 team in the polls in the Big Dance !!! Who'd have ever thunk that sentence would EVER be true?

It was a big game but I have to agree the next games can and will be bigger. Its scary how much things are similar to 06. Playing a lower seed in the Sweet 16 similar to playing George Mason. I was telling my son tonight during the first half that there is a difference and that difference is that this run feels more like our NIT run and thats probably due this team being a Marshall team and 06 not. HCGM is such an amazing motivator and he seems to be able to get his team to feel like they are just as good as anyone they play. We're not winning these games with smoke and mirrors, we're coming out and going toe to toe with whomever we are up against and beating them. Marshall has brought the type of Athletes here that makes that possible. Thursday night now becomes one for the ages, I know that we've gone farther a long time ago but things have changed. Back then sports were big but they were covered for 3 minutes during the local news and with a few articles in the papers and magazines. Now things are so much bigger and the lights are brighter. I love our team, I love our coach and I want to see them bask in the lights as long as they can.

Very true but I'd sure like to play Detroit again as bad as they played defense. I wouldn't mind playing George Mason's coach again as that would put us in the title game against Miami. Just saying!

Totally agree that this feels like the NIT run. Probably because HCGM really wants WSU to be the best it can be and not make him look as good as he can so he can go on to the next best thing. That really fires up a team and their fanbase.

The last 7 minutes were like 2 heavyweights exchanging blows in the middle of the ring!

What I love most is seeing the interaction among the players down the stretch, and after the game. The arms around each other, the high fives, the words of encouragement during it all. The smiles. Man, it makes me emotional watching the camaraderie these guys display together. I can only imagine what an experience like this will bring to the younger players and the program in the years to come.
