Nice quotes and sentiment express by ADES. I like his approach. Be positive, try to set a good example and give them a safety net. I think he does a good job and we are fortunate to have him.

Wish he was a little more proactive in the conference scene. However, he is smart and a class act.

Actually many may remember several of my posts saying how I wasn't sure if ADES is experienced enough to feel confident he is on top of this situation. Yesterday I spoke to my uncle who is a big booster. He told me some things that came straight from ADES that make me feel better about the whole conference situation. Lets just say Elgin better be sure WSU stays happy. There are NO guarantees with this situation but I was pleased to hear there has been some effort by our administration to try and look out for what's best for WSU and they aren't afraid to make threats if needed to the MVC. just hope ADES and Bardo are ready to back up those threats if needed. After my talk with my uncle I do feel a LITTLE better about this situation

I hope you're correct. ADES isn't good in public. That's for sure. How he does behind the scenes and in those smaller, social settings with money I may never know. I hope he and Bardo have plans in place and the MVC knows that we're a flight risk if they try to play it too safe and don't do what's best to keep this conference as strong as they can.

The good news for us is the exit fee is next to nothing so if something comes up, we can bolt at any time and wouldn't have to wait a year or two to save money like some other conferences.

The exit fee is next to nothing now. I don't expect it to stay that way for long.

I wouldn't be so sure. WSU won't vote to raise it. There have been talks of UNI, ISU and MSU all looking at other options. If they're looking to get out in the not too distant future then they're not going to vote for it. We'd need one other and if ISUb or UE think that the MVC could fall apart, they may choose not to raise it thinking if things start to go south they'd have an easier escape. Plus, many of these school have enough financial issues to consider keeping it low so they can run away on the cheap if needed.
