  • CBS cut to the Indiana/Michigan game here in Chicago =(

Understood that Indiana and Michigan are top 10 teams, but the first 10 minutes of that game should not be more important than a close game of a good conference tourney. Ugh.

And, it's not even available online at CBS sports, but you can watch the Michigan/Indiana game online.

Posted the following on Bradley's board.

I called WMBD. He understood and suggested I call corp at 212 975 5100. I did and they were closed but I left them an appropriate message. Think I post this on all the Valley boards.

First, it's not even a national broadcast, but then the cut away from it inside the Valley footprint? What the hell is up with that? Lets move the tournament back a week. Our coverage can't be any worse than the regional "love" we get with the current deal.

Really? That's ridiculous. I was expecting us to lose the lose the feed here, but inside the Valley? There's no excuse for that.

What in the heck is wrong with split-screen coverage in these situations. They have 3-4 ticket-type lines on the screen anyway, why not show both games with the audio on the original game?

Why don't they allow a little more time between broadcasts so they don't have this problem? I was worried the VCU-Temple game before the WSU-CU game was going to cause us to miss some of our game (didn't happen, but it almost did). Why should anyone have to miss any of their game? It was a triple header, just add 15 minutes to the second start game and 30 minutes to the last one (1:15 pm start and 3:30 pm start instead of 1pm and 3pm) and they can probably eliminate this problem.

They did the same thing here in Wichita for the end of the VCU game. They did it so we wouldn't miss the tip. About 90 seconds was left in that game when they cut in.

Elgin put out a fairly strong statement.

                  From Suellentrop's Shocker Report:

CBS switched much of the country away from the final three minutes of the game in favor of the start of Indiana-Michigan.

Wichita and Omaha fans were able to watch the entire game. However, markets with MVC interest such as Chicago, Peoria, Ill, Normal, Ill., Evansville, Ind., and Terre Haute, Ind., lost the game.

“This is incredibly disappointing to learn that CBS switched to another game without giving viewers the opportunity to see the conclusion of our championship game in any market,” MVC commissioner Doug Elgin said in a news release. “It is disrespectful to our two teams and to every institution in our conference. This was our championship game. CBS needs to apologize.”

Good for Elgin. I don't get to say that very often.

Who was it in the game thread that said they werent even showing the game in Virginia?

And thats all Elgin does is "Demand an apology"? Id would be calling major outlets right now with a statement prepared and threatening to null and void the contract.

But we all know Doug Elgin is a silly little ***** who wont do any of that.

Absolute joke. Kills recruiting. How many parents, brothers, sisters, and grandparents didn't get to watch their relative play in the biggest game of their lives?
