1st Shocker coach to earn back to back
6th back to back in conference.
So, since there is at least 39 total first place votes and HCGM receive a total of 32 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place votes, does that mean at least 7 voters didn't have him on their ballot at all? I'd like to hear each of them try to explain that.

Probably what you would hear is "I just don't like the guy!" At least if honest answers were given.

Butt-hurt media people or SID's that are bitter about Marshall owning their schools for the last several years.

Can the locals vote for their own on this one? That would explain some of the ones he's not on at all.

                          Congrats Coach!
Wow! I am really happy about this award. I never would have guessed. I thought Coach Hinson would get it for sure. Maybe Coach McDermott. Just wow!

Great job Coach Gregg Marshall. Two quick reasons he won this deserving honor 2 seasons in a row. 1. He can Coach, Man can he Coach. We were picked 4th after losing 5 key players and took 2nd. WE had way more injuries than any team in the Valley by far, especially starters, but yet we still took second place. 2. 3G can flat out recruit with the very best of them. Not only can he recruit, but he brings in top-notch quality young men.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

You may be correct on this. My elementary math wasn't very good either. Marshall had 33, not 32 total votes.

I'll assume that since there were 39 first place votes within the top 5, there were probably 40 (4 voters x 10 teams) possible votes. So, if HCGM got 33 votes and 4 voters could not vote for him, that left only 3 butt-hurt, just don't like the guy, not a clue voters.

Suellentrop said he voted for Marshall. It was just player awards where he could not for for Shockers.

My guess is that the seven non votes were because of his behavior in St Louis last year.
