  • With CU Leaving - BU looking at Options to Leave

Bradley athletics director Mike Cross would not comment on the potential development, directing any realignment questions to the Valley office. But Cross did speak on the subject. “We’re very happy in the Valley,” he said. “We’re long-standing members. But it would be irresponsible not to investigate all of our options.
This is going to get ugly fast.

Bradley has the same problem as us in that they don't have football so it really limits their options. The Horizon is the only real option in the MW outside of the MVC for such schools and it's not going to be stronger. I really do think without CU, that BU is our best bet to rise up and be a contender.

MVC has a handle on it.....

"Most people at my level would tell you, never have you felt so helpless. You just wait," said one Missouri Valley athletic director, who spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of realignment issues. "We're just sitting here wondering if Creighton goes, which of the 26 schools in our footprint that make some sense should we be pursuing. You just have no idea what tomorrow is like because you don't have any control of it."

26? I could get that down to at least 10 and probably less if they need help narrowing it down.

Makes you feel like they have got a handle on it - doesn't it?

So CU leaving surprised virtually no one, especially MVC brass, who have been all over this so long that they have potential additions narrowed down to a final short list of 26 possibilities...

What's keeping me up at night?

Fear #1 - WSU is stuck in the Valley.
Fear #2 - Valley adds ORU (sorry, just can't get excited about being in the same conference with them even though they are in Tulsa)
Fear #3 - Valley adds one or both of the Dakota schools (who wants to go there especially in Jan or Feb?)

The Dakotas won't get the votes needed. I'll post more about some of my thoughts and what I've picked up from others later
