When ESPN3 is the only way you get to see most of the games, you are thankful and don't complain.

Hope the guys have plenty of fun, but we need to stay focused on the job at hand.

st louis this year is looking like a son of a you-know-what. my god.

back to tonight: shockers were very poised defensively. i was looking for post ilsu game shakiness, defensively, but it wasn't there. the goal is NOW within reach, after these two last road games.

I don't get to see many either. I just hated the quality. That most likely had to do with my crappy internet.

Not sure that's how I would describe this Shocker team. I think were driving a beat up old work truck that is missing a couple of parts (Wessel and Baker) and has has more than it share of dings and dents this year, but the sumbitch just won't quit running and we show up for work every day in that beautiful old thing and take care of our business. Not pretty, but effective.

              • Watched it on Xbox - pretty good feed except for a few minutes to go when MA had a turnover. Got really blurry for a few secs, as we lost our high def; I figured it probably affected MA also. :)

Actually, I think this analogy could apply to Creighton, Indiana State, Illinois State, UNI and MSU as well.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

                  • This year when scoring 65+ points in regulation: WSU is 20-1

When scoring < 65 points in regulation: WSU is 3-4

Over the last two years, when scoring 65+ points in regulation: WSU is 47-1

Over the last two years, when scoring < 65 points in regulation: WSU is 3-10

The keys to the game can pretty much be shortened to 'one' every night.

                      • All these posters over on MVC fans saying that this was not the same InSU team that beat WSU in Wichita...WSU fans included.

That's a bunch of hogwash. This was probably the best defensive performance I've seen them play all year. Every pass was contested, every catch was contested...they did a pretty good job at keeping the ball in front of them on the dribble. WSU's defense was like a brick wall tonight. I would have just handed the ball over to them with a white flag everytime I caught it against that defense.

I don't get impressed easily by defense just due to it being an effort thing, but this defensive performance had everything to do with InSU looking sub-par on offense.
The mountains are calling, and I must go.

                        • I think I'm actually the only one that said that, at least verbatim. And it's true.

They were incredible in Wichita. We played so-so and got SHELLACKED. Tonight, we played so-so and won by 4. On their home court.

They are the streakiest team in the MVC, so that comment is not really beyond the pale of common sense.

                          • We were lucky to pull out these last 2 road wins. And speaking of Baker, isn't he about ready to come back, we can use his 3 point shooting at Omaha and St. Louis?

                            • Just finished watching the game on ESPN3 replay. The Shocks were lucky to escape Terre Haute with that win. There were some pretty low BBIQ plays inside 2 minutes that helped squander a nice 7 or 8 point lead. Bad, out-of-control drives to the hoop, fouling 3 point shooters, etc. Ugh. The play that resulted in a foul called that put Early on the line with about :28 left has been called a jump ball more than a few times.

Is there any way to stop Odum from driving the paint and getting all those and ones? I mean damn. He's great at getting off his shot and drawing contact.

Two game road swing resulting in two wins. Magic number down to one to clinch MVC title with two to play. Nice.

Demetric Williams has become a warrior. Hitting the two clutch free throws inside a minute after getting tripped and falling on the bad hip had to hurt badly. Fortunately the guy fouled out and DWill had some extra time to get re-wrapped.

Long 4 days 'til Detroit. That one will be tough, too.

I'm not so sure this is a Maserati - more like a rusted out VW microbus that refuses to die.

                              • Malcolm's 3 PT % is up to .372. That's getting dangerously close to "good" territory.

I would have never expected that back in November.
