Carmichaels drive at the end also could have been called a charge.

If he would have connected with the head, Cotton could have ended up in the hospital.

This does not happen very often. Whether we were placed in a position where the game was already decided in the final minutes or we had put away a team early, but this win is utterly astonishing.

I couldn't make my self watch the game tonight but I turned on the TV with 8 seconds left, early hit the 3 and then the win. Wow, such drama in 8 seconds.

I turned the tv off with about 3 min left down 10 pts. I came into the living room and told my wife we lost and played like ****. I grab the ipad and start looking at the game thread. By the time i get to the end i realize we have the ball with like 5 seconds left and i'm like, what the hell happened? I grab the remote and flip it over just in time to see the three. Holy **** i can't believe we won that piece of **** game. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. We tried to give it away, we let the refs dictate the game, but illinois state was just bad enough to let us hang around and hang around. That was ridiculous but I'll take it.

Congrats on the win fellas. We couldn't put you guys away all night and you were there at the end and made big plays. I'm not going to gripe about the call on Carmichael. We lost a 7pt lead with a minute to go so this one is on us, but a credit to your team.

Early is never late. THE Shocks just kept hangin around. Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good. However, to be good, you also have to get a few breaks along the way. We got hosed on the SIU call of goaltending. So we were due. Did you see the charge on them at the end and no call? yikes!!!
