  • WSU VS. ILLINOIS STATE PREDICTIONS AND PREGAME DISCUSSIONS

Here's the deal. There is a revived "Valley Of Death" these days. Parity is the name and pandemonium is the game lately. Even SIU has been gloving up and beating up on folk. Now we have fowl red birds, blue, blue, jaybirds, toothpicks, and purple aces wanting to rain on our black and yellow parade of our 1st place beloved Shockers. Underestimating any Valley team now could compare to walking in a fierce biker bar, telling everybody that would listen that you have never been whuped and are very bad and start flirting with the dames as well. Betting the farm with predictions could be similar to playing Russian Roulette but fsf would not know about that jazz.

So here we are and now play a 4 game Valley gig we could call the "Valley Of Shock Trek." ISU began this Conference at 0-6 after being rated as a 2nd to 3rd place finisher. Now they are as hot as as a smoking pistol at the OK Corall. Okay? Notta!!! It is not okay whatsoever with our perspective, but beating them will require our A game. We need to win at least 3 out of 4 of these games and that will be a tall order that is indeed possible if we execute our game-plan. The redbirds have some solid players and showed Creighton how the cow ate the cabbage.

EO misses a tying free throw with 1 second left only to T. rex his own rebound and break the backboard for the win.

Still a sour taste left in my mouth by that team and their fans in St. Louis last year. Hope they sweep them under the rug again.

Fun (or not) fact using cherry-picked stats.

W/L records over the last 8 games:

              IlSU 7-1
              UNI 6-2
              WSU 5-3
              InSU 5-3
              UE 3-5
              BU 3-5
              MSU 3-5
              CU 3-5
              DU 3-5
              SIU 2-6

I know a lot of those don't affect the IlSU game, but after I saw CU's record, I wanted to see how that stacked up.

IlSU is on fire right now, and the bottom 2/3 of the league is lining up to take down the top teams. I don't have the patience to research stats and box scores to see what IlSU is doing to absolutely turn their season around, but right now, they're the most dangerous team in the conference.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

I like the talk about Karma biting the birds on the a$$. If it really does exist, we will win this game because of referees. But that never happens to us.

We win this on our own.

Any idea if this game will be available online anywhere to watch? I'll be out of town and not sure if I'll be able to get to anywhere that has ESPNU.

It would be on ESPN3 for you if you are outside of Kansas and Missouri.

Clean the glass with regularity, keep T. Brown under control, play physical. This is our Superbowl til Sunday night about 9:30

Careful about EO dunking in a missed free throw and smashing a backboard. Refs liable to give a T and Illinois State shoots 2 free throws knowing our luck. Go Shocks!

Back to the topic: Shocks by 4 with extra MTXE.

@cjp27: I think I gave you wrong info about ESPN3. I just checked their schedule for Sunday and our game is just on ESPNU. Try for a first row "seat."

JW has the fourth best shooting % on the team, he has the second highest number of rebounds
PER minute played, he is fourth in points scored PER minute played, hustles, makes few
mental mistakes, and has been a solid contributor
