I've always felt that Janssen tends to go with the flow set by his partners. I don't know if there's anything legit about that or not. It may explain why his game with Higgins appears better to us than his games with others. Or maybe we simply fouled and played a more aggressive style than our opponent that night.

Lets remember, fouls aren't supposed to be even on the board. Just called as evenly as possible. Some teams simply foul more than others. Aggressive man is going to be called for more fouls normally than a team that plays soft zones. So while the numbers are interesting, the whole story they do not tell.

As far as why he may get as many of our games as he does is probably his location, Wichita is an easy drive and he likes working here. He likes the crowd and he likes the arena.

Funny but wrong. I do find it interesting as to why Higgins is so polarizing to the people on our board.

I have been fighting the urge to start this very same post but didn't want anyone to think the Shocker Nation "blames it on the ref's". That being said I cringe every time I see that Higgins is our ref. I feel we get a very quick whistle sometimes from him and no leniency. I watched Higgins approach HCGM the last game at Koch during warm ups and it was not a warm welcome, anything but. Just sayin'

He must be seen as 'good' or have a ton of people fooled...he works EVERY night on TV....

On the related subjects of refs, does Winston Stith do many big time games anymore?

                  Just interested...

...who the other officials are that Shocker fans would prefer to have officiate their game.

This should provide some interesting fodder to review and digest.

FYI... both 'Blarges' Higgins was involved with were not his fault.

He was the 'lead' official in both cases and both drives were 'North South' down the lane.

The call was in his primary and the Center could have 'double whistled' the call and raised his fist, but hold on the preliminary signal.

The 'C' is to make eye contact after his whistle and let the primary make the call.

Since the 'C' came out with a prelim as soon as the Lead, they have no choice but to go to a double, or as we refer a 'Blarge'.

                  That is all.
Above all, make the right call.

@AndShock says he wants he wants Scott Thornley, Tom Eades and Don Daily. He's also said something about Hightower...

He's also adding Kelly Self, Mark Whitehead and Steve Olson.

My only problem with him, and others is that in the last ten days he did 8 games. Very tough and the other night he got pretty testy with GM. Think they wear down.

I respect the opinion of the refs on this board that say he is good. He just seems to be involved in some weird games with us.....Illinois State last year, SIU this year.

Count me out of Don Daily.

I've seen JB Caldwell ref so many games this year - he's actually pretty solid. Also Mike Stuart is pretty good IMO and yes I know he was on the squad that did the SIU-WSU game at Carbondale this year.

Gerry Pollard is an egotistical maniac - though you do have to have a little bit of it to be a big time ref.
The mountains are calling, and I must go.
