10 Game Resume

I have heard it said the selection experts put alot of stock on the last 10 games which makes us 1-0...that is if we make it to the tournament championship. Games left to go are Drake, Ill St, Ind St, Detroit, Evansville, Creighton, and 3 in St Louis. Whats everyones gut feeling on our 10 game record? How many do we have to win to solidify a spot in the dance? Sure hope we dont have to add UNI and SIU to that 10 game record.

I thought the last ten games weren't as important in the analysis as they have been in in the past?

Maybe they are not supposed to be but I can't believe that the members of the committee dont keep them in mind

Yup, not really even a factor anymore. Overall body of work is the main focus now, which makes the most sense.

The only thing the last 10 may have a factor in is seeding, in much the way they treat injuries. But it has virtually no impact on whether selected or not.

As has been said, they are supposedly weighing the last 10 less than previous years. However to somewhat answer your original question:

5-1 & 1-1 STL is good enough
4-2 & WSU better make it to Sunday to be sure
3-3 or worse and WSU better just take the auto bid to be safe.

Basically I think 25 wins will be the minimum to get in. So long as the losses are to either ISUb or CU I think WSU is in decent enough shape to be on the right side of the bubble. Lose to Drake, Detroit or Evansville and it gets dicey. The rest of the teams in the general bubble range as WSU either dont have any good wins or have bad losses. WSU has good wins and only 1 bad loss. Get 25 wins and hopefully the run to #15 in the polls helps get the Shox in. 27 would make for a comfortable selection Sunday. All in my opinion of course.
