all right, opponents have adapted, zoning us and beating us. do we
continue down the same road or adapt ourselves. we have at least
9-10 pretty darn good players but we have allowed our opponents to
dictate tempo. by now, it should be obvious, that we really need to
play up tempo for our best chance of winning. zone or not, our guards
have to start pushing the ball up the court and attack before a zone gets
settled in. if not successful, they should NOT retreat to near mid court and
stand there dribbling the shot clock away. they should immediately start a
perimeter quick ball reversing offense remaining AGGRESSIVE offensively. we
have depth. low energy players should comne out.......period. guards who
over dribble.....OUT immediately ! throw the substition script OUT and always
play five players with gas/energy. that means early and wiggens have to play
BOTH ends of the court. reward high energy players and TEAM players with PT.
pretty soon the players will get the message and perform better knowing their
replacement is seconds away and not several minutes.

I think most of us would prefer to full court press more and pick up the tempo. Marshall doesn't seem to like to press as much as we want hime to.

The press works best with Orupke protecting the rim. Still, the offense looked way better when they threw the playbook out the window and played like they were being coached by Westphal.
