  • As bad as we have played.....

We still control our own destiny in the valley regular season. 1 game back of Creighton and get to play them again. Not saying its going to be easy with trips to CU, InSt, and ILLst, or anybody for that matter with how we have played the last 3 games but the guys and coaches should feel good that they still control what happens. We need to get back to playing with a chip on our shoulder.

That being said my only comment on whats going on the last three games is that I wish Coach would go into a press more full time. We cant create offense very well in the half court. Why not create it with our D. I think we have the depth to do it. Yes we might give up an easy bucket or two but it will also hurry teams into shots which also lead to a quicker paced offense for us. I do not know if we have the shooters to sit back in a half court offense and try and win games because we will never be able to get the ball inside with how teams will continue to play us.

The Shox need to go to confession. Their pennance is to win out, and all will be forgiven.

    Easy enough?

An old golf pro once told me when you can't make a putt to save your soul...take a deep breath and start putting like you don't give a $hit.
That is exactly what the shox need to do. Quit passing up good shot because you are afraid to miss. Pull the trigger and crash the boards.

Pulling the trigger isn't an issue for a couple of them.

Cle and Wiggins need to be more selfish.

We also have to get back to forcing TOs. I dunno the stats, but we are getting less than 10 a game in our losses arent we?

It's hard for Wiggins to be more selfish as he seems to mostly be a spot up type shooter and doesn't move well without the ball. Now, if he'll do more slashing, I'm with you. But he needs to work harder on both ends of the floor.

Cle could be more selfish, but he has to be smart about it. He's taken some insanely stupid shots at times.

What we really need is better ball movement and to make the D work. We really haven't done a good job of that lately.

More pressure would help as we do much better when we can push the tempo and get out and run. I still think some of our struggles are because Ehimen hasn't been playing.

EO should have had a field day against the little people if SIU. At one point, he was posting up on a 6'2" guy. He could get 3 or 4 chances against those odds.

Should, but if they don't pass him the ball (especially when he has a mismatch the other night) we will never know.

Was DWill on the floor every time he had that mismatch? This would explain quite a bit.

Just a couple of random thoughts...we are holding the ball way too much instead of making a crisp pass, perhaps the loss of three players earlier has forced several players to play more minutes and they are hitting the wall which would explain why we aren't shooting well from the outside and not pressing more, agree that Wiggins is more of a spot up shooter but his range is unbelievable so it would be nice to see a screen set for him or dribble drive and kick it out to him, hope they find their mojo again. Everyone that was around before Turgeon knows how these last few games feel and it really does suck. The losing streaks were longer but at the same time we could look forward to Shocker Baseball.

Agreed, the season is not over, but we cannot afford another bad loss and we cannot afford more than a couple more losses in general. MSU, Drake, Evansville, and ISUr are all must wins. Our margin of error is dwindling and we need to turn this ship around quick.

We could also cut our dumbass turnovers down a tad.
