I still love this team though! I believe we'll get back on track and peak at the right time during the dance. It's a game of peaking your team at the right point in the season.

It would be nice if we had a 5th year redshirt senior Garrett Stutz back for this year. Or a Joe Ragland or a Toure Murry. Add any one of those 3 to this team and I would feel a lot better about our chances.

Having said that, this years team is still better than I expected and they still have a good opportunity to dance. As long as they don't blow too many more games. I feel like WSU could still lose 2 more games this year and still dance. As long as one of the losses isn't too Mo State or SIU, I think we could survive 2 more losses. But any more than that and I think we will talking about the NIT.

With road games at Creighton, Indy St and Ill. State left it is going to be tough. We need to go on a nice little winning streak and get our mojo back.

We are stinking because team's have just now figured out that two of our starters are not capable of scoring at a D1 level. If we had Wessel and Baker right now, we'd be 21-2. Cotton and Williams are basically non-existent, allowing other teams to play 5 on 3. When Armstead is playing badly, we have nobody on the perimeter.

What we have is a team that lost a ton of experience and a cast of very good juco and transfer players that are extremely talented but still making adjustment. Better make then now and be on the rise from here on then wait til the end of the seaon...

Yes, we didn't play great this week. But shut the hell up with the doom and gloom. One game at a time. This isn't even close to over. You really think that we can't overcome this week? Then go root for the damn Chickenhawks.

I dunno, I don't think the team's bad enough to end up in the NIT yet. There's still a LOT of basketball to be played. However, we need a leader to step up tt the guard position. Myself, I'm kinda' scratching my head as to why we aren't playing Nick Wiggins more. I'd like to see more of Nick and a little less of DW, although I am glad he took fewer 3 point shots today. People say his D is a liability, but who was supposed to be on Sonnen when he hit all those shots on the (as seen on my TV) deep left corner.

Someone really screwed up on their assignments there, and I don't think it was Wiggins. How do you not guard a guy who hits over 50% from the 3?

Early needs to step up, too. I mean, how can you get your 5th foul in the backcourt, for God's sake?

With all I've said, I still say it's not so bad to get the bad games out of your system now. I'd much rather see the team play bad and lose now, as opposed to playing bad and losing in the MVC tourney and the NCAA (and yes, I think we are still going to make it).

HOwever, and to close, I don't see this team with the 'killer' instinct that our team had last year. I am, however,, concerned that I'm seeing chemistry issues and I would really like to see someone step up and lead, act like there is a sense of urgency and show a will to win.

I never thought about it like that. You're right. We totally get the name brand respect of Creighton, Butler and KU.... I understand what you're saying, but without the long standing tourny success of those teams, we aren't treated the same. It's just an unfortunate fact. So this IS important. And more importantly is a game plan, that isn't rocket science, is not only beating us, but making us look really sad.

I'm more disappointed in the guys that should have some experience than I am in our JuCo guys.

I disagree. This team appears to have chemistry issues, and until the coach steps in and gets it settled, we will continue to have these issues.

I would also like to see the coach shake the rotation up a little. I am campaigning for Wiggins to get more time. I'm sure he'd make more 3's than DW.

We'd be so much better with Wessel and Baker healthy. At least next year we should have shooters. Baker, Wessel, Wiggins, Holland and Green.
