Ill State travel thoughts

For any of you even remotely considering going to the game @ Ill State on Feb 17, flights from KC to Chicago are dirt cheap.

It is a 2 hour drive from Chicago to Normal.

I and my three progeny are going. If anyone else is going, please let me know! (wife can't go - please no jokes or other suggestions)

I have been to Normal several times over the years (to watch Shocker baseball games). I have always driven there, it is a 9 hour drive from Wichita and a 7 hour drive from Topeka.

There is a good italian restaurant there- Avanti's. They have the best sandwiches I have ever eaten, they are called gondolas as I recall. They also have a good steak house there- Jim's steakhouse in Bloomington. The decor is right out of the 60s but the steak is good.
