It reads like it was his 5th grade writing assignment, but I have a feeling you are correct.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

I dunno. I want to give Creighton fans more credit. DJA and RJF at least represent well. But it could be that guy who was holding the "Wichita - Boeing = Carbondale" sign. Every fan base has one I guess.

He is one heck of an offensive collegiate player, but not even close to an NBA player. Cup of tea maybe, but no staying power imo. So basically you claim that unless a kid is a future NBA player he is not that good? Well, there are 60 total picks in the NBA draft. Of those 60 #31-60 are not for sure going to be on the rosters. So 60 kids every year are NBA "caliber". That is less than 2% of Div I players. 1/10th of them resided on a single team last year at Kentucky. My point is a kid can be a great player in college without being an NBA "caliber" player. Greatness is doing whatever it takes to help your team win. Scoring 40 a game and losing doesn't do a whole lot, especially if it is against inferior athletes. You can give me Carl Hall every day over McDermott. I know Carl can and will play a high level of defense day in and day out, and I don't think I have to worry too much about him forcing shots if he doesn't feel he has enough points yet. Those are the things that help teams win. Do fans elevate their teams players, absolutely! But I don't recall anyone on here projecting Carl as a lottery pick, I haven't even seen much chatter that Cle is a for sure NBA guy, just that he has that potential.
If his fellow Bluejay, Kyle Korver can stick around in the NBA being a 3-point specialists, I don't see Doug McD not having a shot in the NBA being the same kind of player. Physically, they are similar, both are 6'7", but Doug is 8 lbs heavier. Comparing college stats, Kyle averaged 14 ppg while Dougie is averaging 19. Dougie has a chance, and every NBA team has a couple of three-point specialists on their roster.

Good to see you back after your 3 game (Brown played and somehow our guys miraculously pulled out a win) demise of the program fail. Not surprisingly you jump right into the shallow end and defend the other guy.

                You're the BEST!!!!!

KC Shox- I will give you Korver, however he is a guard. Doug doesn't have the foot speed nor athleticism to be a guard in the NBA. Your point though is duly noted. And you are correct that every team has room for a 3pt specialist on the bench. But that is the only way I see Doug making it.

Maybe we need a sign that says "Wichita + Carbondale + Terre Haute = Omaha"!

Early is a diamond in the rough that is half-cut. He should make it if he is consistent in scoring for the next couple of years and works on ball handling and defence.
As for Creighton, we lose, unless we can get Wragge ,Mc Dermott or Echineche to get in foul trouble early on. Hopefully our snowballs chance will be in the arctic and not in H double E hockey sticks.
Just at what tender age did you come to the conclusion that "Fans tend to slant for their team?" Perhaps you can sometime in the near or distant future use this brilliant deduction as the thesis for your masters degree?

You then go on and accuse most of us on this board as deceiving ourselves because we think our team (despite a 16-2 record) is more than it actually is and, in your opinion, virtually has little to no chance of beating the almighty, CU. That is unless one of their three top players run into foul problems. Of course, your astute assumption does not even take into consideration as to how well we play, how well we defend them, how much we out rebound them by, or how much we out hustle their butts.

If you have been a Shocker fan, or for that matter a fan of virtually any team, you should know by now that hope always springs eternal. And that the best team in the land can, on any given night, get beat by any school ranked in the top 50 or even 100.

You are certainly most entitled to your opinion. If we all agreed on everything, this board would be very boring.

Just a suggestion. The next time you want to predict that a much heated rival team (especially one with CU in its title) is not only going to beat us, but that a very good Shocker team, in our own house, has little to no chance of winning, and that we are looking through rose colored glasses, because we think we can, you had better be prepared to take the heat.

No Wu, you're the best, thanks for noticing. I guess absence does make the heart grow fonder. It's uplifting to know you feel a bit of emptiness and perceive something's just not right when I'm not on SN.

Anyway, all I said was that we'd go on a three game skid, I don't recall ever saying our season would be ruined, or our post season chances were going down the drain or our program was about to become obsolete. I can go all 'nuclear reactor meltdown' on occasion, but not for a three game stretch. I did say however that I'd rather have a mid-season slump now rather than later (but prefaced the fact that return games to ISU red and CU would be daunting). Hence my prediction.

By the way, I'm not defending anyone. The guy dealt with absolutes when he said Dougie was not NBA material. Hell, he could have said something about Colt Ryan or J. Charmichael and I would have done the same thing.
