  • Lunardi's bracket bytes

Lunardi has WSU as the #23 team, which puts it as the 3rd team with a 6 seed.

In other words, WSU just needs to pass three teams to get to a protected seed. (through #5)

    He also said this:

BRACKET BYTES: To me, Wichita State is just about the most underrated story in college basketball. The Shockers lost four starters from a 27-win team and have been playing on-and-off with several of their new starters injured, yet they have lost just once and are tied with Creighton atop the Missouri Valley Conference. The Blue Jays come to Wichita a week from Saturday, so you'd better circle the calendar for that one.

I think that he really wants to move WSU up. He just has to see the Creighton game. Whoever wins that (WSU of course) will get a big boost up the charts. That is a game that ALOT of people around the country will be paying attention to. It's really too bad it isn't on ESPN instead of one of the minor stations.

I am beginning to realize that 3-0 this week and a win over indiana state might put us within striking distance of top ten. It will be a very interesting next week or so.

Not necessarily. If two team are next to each other in the poll and the one behind is playing a lot better, in the eyes of the media, then it's possible for them to jump over the other in the poll.

True, but the cards seem to be stacked against WSU and schools like it sometimes. It really depends on who the other school is. This applies more to the coaches poll versus the AP though.

The game is on ESPN2. That is virtually the same as being on ESPN. I definitely don't consider the deuce a minor channel.

Just keep winning and the poll numbers will take care of themselves. ONE GAME AT A TIME.

I didn't look. I thought it was ESPNU.

Actually, it will be on ESPN 2 .The Shockers will not be caught off guard against Creighton on the 19th. They tend to butt heads big time in these rivalry games, and Creighton will be the casualty when it is all over. I'm looking for the Shockers to play to their level from here on out and not down to another teams. (northern iowa as an example) It should be a wild one with an unrelenting attack by the Shockers on national tv. Goooo Shockers!!!
