As usual, I won't predict a score, but I'll be mildly -- and very pleasantly -- surprised if the Shocks, who look to be running low on fuel with their shortened roster, manage to win this one.

    Surprise me, road warriors!

I don't know if we win or lose this one, but I think after HC3G's comments after the last game you can expect the defense to be cranked up greatly, Coach was not happy.

          Keys:

CE - use quickness in post and 15 ft. area
MA, DW, FVV, TC- Less than 7 combined turnovers
          Look for transition opportunities
Hit 40% of 3's and take less than 20.

What do I know? I am not overly confident, but I don't have to be. Shocks win a squeaker.

If EU gets Early and EO in early foul trouble, we may be in a bit of a stew. On another subject, I am going to say something that some of you (or many as the case may be) will not agree with. Just because KC thinks we may possibly lose one, two or all three of the next three games, you jump down his throat. It's his opinion and he is entitled to it. Just as you are entitled to your opinion. You don't have to agree with him, and if you don't it's fine to post an opposing view -- just do it in "non attack" form. This is a "FAN" board, and even if some of you don't think KC is a Shocker fan, he is. He has been much more enthusiastic this year than in past years. Personally, I think sometimes KC posts something he KNOWS will get a rise out of half the posters here just to stir things up. And I agree with him that IF we play the way we did against SIU, this could very well be a loss or a very close game. However, I have faith that the Shocks, once again, will find a way to win. (Actually I hope Early and Wiggins both have a stellar afternoon and we win by many).

This game hinges on foul trouble. We almost lost the last one because of Cotton's foul trouble in the first half.

Spelling was not Smithson's strong suit - and Xavier thought the "X" meant him, anyway.

                        • Just wondering if we might use a twist of various zones but only if the Colt is covered like a cheap suit without fouling. We need tough D without a rash of fouling and foul trouble. Maybe an interlace of zones will keep them guessing and keep our fouls to a mild roar. We are at our best when our D. is as active and razor-sharp as a two-edged sword, just like Zorro baybay. This is when we generate some easy transition offense off our stingy defense. If we foul them too much, they will benefit and make throws.

Now for the other side of the court, etc.. Contain the Colt-45 to a Colt 20. By that I mean hold him to 20 or under and contain the other purple-aces to a folded poker hand. We need to make shots by taking wise ones in the confines of our offense. Make each throw as important as each shot. Nobody will be guarding us there so we need to make most of them today. We can also gain quite an advantage of out-rebounding them. Thus here is the recipe formula==MTXE=they miss shots from solid D.==we get most of the bounds===we get more possessions===we make more points===we win. Can u dig it? Groooovy black and yellow graaaavy would be yummy at 16-1.

                          • Will be a toughee...

UE plays well at home, has a stud to turn to and knows if they lose, it's a two horse race to the end.

WSU finishing the yearly schedule stretch of 3 out of 4 on the road.

Would feel a lot better had CH healed up a week sooner going into this one.

This game will be nothing short of a war.
Above all, make the right call.

                              • Today will bring the worst day of the winter season to Evansville. It has been raining pretty hard the last 24 hours, and with freezing rain predicted for this afternoon, that should help to quiet the Ford Center.
