It will all come down to how well the Shox play defense. Hold Ryan under 20 and I think WSU wins the game. To me though, the team looks like it might be getting a little tired as our last 2 games have been very lackluster on defense. Not good going into a game where there will be more screens (and moving ones at that) than the guys have seen all year. I like this team, and I think Creighton has a rude awakening coming next weekend, but I see Evansville as a stumbling block with WSU not having a true post threat offensively.

The rebounds, steals, blocks, and turnovers sections all seem wonky to me. For example, it appears our defense is averaging fewer rebounds per game than Evansville but we are ranked 19 and they are ranked 119 and we are the team that is highlighted. The steals, blocks, and turnovers sections all have a similar problem to me. Why would it be good to have a higher number on steals, blocks, and TOPG on the offensive side and better to have a lower number on the defensive side?

          Thanks!
WSU's opponents get 29.8 rebounds per game, which is ranked 19th; Evansville's opponents get 33.4 rebounds per game, which is ranked 119th. It is better to give up fewer rebounds, so 19 is better than 119 and the better statistic is highlighted.

On offense, more is better;on defense, less is better.

              Jaylon Moore F-C 6-7 230 SO
              David Howard F 6-8 225 FR
              Rokas Cesnulevicius F-C 6-8 215 SO
              Egidijus Mockevicius C 6-10 225 FR

              Ryan Sawvell F-C 6-8 200 SO

UE's got some height, but that's pretty much a "white guys who can't jump" group. Try to imagine any 2 of those guys going down court in transition and trying to keep up with Early and Orukpe. If we miss a bunny in transition and UE gets the rebound, we're in trouble. UE's front court players won't have crossed the half court line yet.

It's not just Cotton who has to shut Ryan down. UE's offense consists of non-stop screens for Ryan. Lots of switching. ryan pretty much runs in circles from the top of the key to the wings and baseline with screens everywhere - even on the baseline. Cotton and Armstead could have a field day picking a 6'5" guy if Ryan tries to cribble to a screen.

I'm going with WSU 68-60. Ryan gets 25 - 18 of them after the game's decided, but UE makes a valiant effort to come back.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

I told my wife that Shania would be the only woman I would leave her for...and she told me she would understand but if Harrison Ford came knocking she hoped I would understand.

Hey, - Shania was married to one guy NAMED Mutt - maybe you've got a chance . . . Harrison comes to town for flight training - should call in a favor from someone at Flight Safety I know and have him stop by to see Mrs. Pogo, eh?

Smart. He is about 80 now and will be long gone, while you still many years to chase Shania.

We lose the next two out of three games (and if T. Brown is reinstated before our game, it will be a three game losing streak). The Shox have not put together a complete game in their last three and stating the obvious, not having CH is still a real killer for us. We lose 70 to 61 as we will not be able to defend the dribble penetration, get into foul trouble and put EU on the line way too much. By the way, as a team EU is shooting 88 percent from the line in league play and 75 percent overall.

Our non-con schedule is going to crap and being exposed. Other than VCU, we beat up on a bunch of crappy to average teams. Our overall SOS has dropped to 105. We're the only team in the top 20 of the RPI with a SOS of over 100.

Man I am shocked by such a prediction. I bet you were a joy to be around on December 20th.

Valid. But EU and Ill state are sorry. We will need some scoring other than CE.

ESPN's BPI has us at #42 in terms of SOS. 13 other top 25 teams have higher SOS numbers. Ken Pomeroy has 15 teams with worse non-conference SOSs. Six of those were ranked above #300. It is true that we didn't play a horribly great non-conference schedule, but we won the games we needed to. Guess what, most teams don't have a perfect non-conference and schedule only top 25 teams, and most teams lose more than 1 non-conference game.

I'm expecting another game that will be entirely too close, but our defense will show up in this one. I feel that Nick Wiggins will show up, and Ehimen will do a good job shutting their posts down until he gets in foul trouble. This may be a good game for White/Lufile.
