  • Craziest stat of the year:

Every player on our team averages double-digit minutes per game.

    Carl Hall - 28.3
    Ron Baker - 25.1
    Demetric Williams - 24.8
    Malcolm Armstead - 24.7
    Cleanthony Early - 23.7
    Tekele Cotton - 20.7
    Evan Wessel - 19
    Ehimen Orukpe - 18
    Fred Van Vleet - 14.6
    Jake White - 12.1
    Nick Wiggins - 11.0
    Chadrack Lufile - 10.5

I have never see this before on any level. Obviously this will go away when we are healthy, but I just wanted to point this out. We have depth.

Here is another one (I am not sure where i heard or read this), but I thought it was pretty cool.

Top 3 teams in the nation who lead in Steals -

    1. Virginia Commonwealth
    2. Southern Mississippi
    3. Bradley

Only team in America to beat those 3 teams, OUR WICHITA STATE SHOCKERS!!!

        Nothing short of amazing.

I suppose a player's average is based upon games in which he has played only. The average excludes games in which he has not played.

        Nevertheless, pretty amazing.

In head-to-head match-ups, WSU has the same number of steals as these teams combined (26) and one more turnover (46-45). Keep in mind that 2 of these games were on the road and the third at IBA. Also of note, while we're on defensive specialty stats, WSU out-blocked these teams 21-5. Without 2nd leading shot-blocker Carl Hall for 2 of the games. In fact, Orukpe alone doubled the opponents block output (10-5).

How about this crazy stat - in his last three games Early is averaging MORE than a point a minute.

                  Drake - 13 minutes - 11 points
                  Bradley - 24 minutes - 24 points
                  SIU - 36 minutes - 39 points

                  1.01 points / minute

                    Scheduling oddity

This weekend, Jan 19-20; the MVC schedule is as follows (numbers indicate position in conference standings):

                    #1 Creighton vs #2 WSU 6-0 vs 5-1
                    #3T Indiana St vs #3T Evansville 4-2 vs 4-2
                    #5T Bradley vs #5T Missouri State 3-3 vs 3-3
                    #7T UNI vs #7T Drake 2-4 vs 2-4
#9 So Ill vs #10 Ill St 1-5 vs 0-6

                    Kennedy mentioned this last night.

Even the home team for the non-tied positions is the same (So Ill 1-5 and WSU 5-1)
