    ESPN BPI RANKINGS. JAN 2

    What is the BPI?
The College Basketball Power Index (BPI) is a men's team rating that accounts for a team's scores in all D-I games, by location, result, the strength of their opponent, and whether any of their top five players (by minutes per game) was missing.

It's better than the RPI because it takes in effect whether or not a team is playing without its top five (starters) players which is exactly what Wichita State is facing.

Not even by ESPN. That's the funniest thing. But some of their top 25 lost this week, so we'll see when their next poll comes out.

We need to get by Bradley first. If we do that, then maybe there will be some hope for Monday's polls.

I would think so. But it is asking a little much to have two ranked mvc teams.

That is a telling statement. The voters can no longer be concerned that we are missing 3 starters anymore after our performances the last couple of weeks.
Shocker fan for life after witnessing my first game in person, the 80-74 win over the #12 Creighton Bluejays at the Kansas Coliseum.

I bet nobody knew the last time Creighton beat a ranked opponent in the non-con was... 2006. Yep. Seriously.

What difference does that make. Conferences have more than one team all of the time. It's not something that you have to ask for. It is something that is earned

So called one bid mid-major conferences don't. Unfortnuately I think many sportswriters view the Valley that way.

There have only been a handful of times in the past ten years that two mvc teams have been ranked at the same time.

Have there been more than a handful of times that two valley teams deserved to be ranked at the same time?

Probably not, but there have also been teams ranked that had no business being there just because of their conference affiliation. Thats why it is harder for the valley to get multiple ranked teams if they are deserving. Just like this year.
