  • InSU down 1 with 8.9 seconds left. Inbounds and gets a layup and an and-one with 4.0 seconds left. misses the throw and Iona puts up a half-court shot at the buzzer.

    InSU - 65
    Iona - 64

Trees needed that for the NIT.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

    • In a game that exemplifies one of the big negatives about BB.

MSU (RPI 224) trails Eastern Michigan (RPI 218) 34-28 with 15 minutes left in the game.

Unfortunately IONA's record (15-13) and rpi (141) are so bad, the win isn't going to help Indy State's rpi or resume. But a loss certainly would have hurt them.

Another example of what is bad about this BB thing.

          • MSU up 51-47 with 1:30 to play. Would love to see the Valley win 7+ today for a little late rpi bump.

                • Misssouri State was down 9 at 36-45 with 6 minutes to go at Eastern Michigan but came charging back to pull out a 57-54 win in a game that took forever to play the last 38 clicks.

Not sure what all went on at the end of this game but according to the play-by-play:

0:04 - Marcus Marshall hit 2 FT's to but MSU up 57-52 and then a technical foul was called on Marshall. (Taunting?)

0:04 - J.R. Sims hit the 2 technical FT's to pull EMU back to 57-54

0:03 - After an EMU timeout MSU's Marcus Marshall picked up another foul, but EMU's Antoine Chandler missed the front end of the 1-and-1.

0:03 - MSU's Nathan Scheer grabbed the rebound of the missed FT and was immediately fouled

0:03 - Scheer missed both FT attempts but grabbed the rebound of his own miss.

0:01 - MSU's Dorrian Williams was fouled and he missed two more free throws, but mercifully the clock expired as EMU gathered the final rebound

So their were 9 free throw attempts in the final 4 seconds of the game. MSU went 2-6 and EMU went 2-3 (with EMU's miss being the front end of a 1-and-1).

I was hoping Miami would continue their winning streak. They've been playing well below their record and ranking. They would be the best shot at a 16 taking down a 1.

                    • Evansville all over WSU (Wright State) early as the Aces lead 17-5 at the under 12 media timeout.

Now its 21-9 Evansville and the Colt only has 2 points.

Update: WSU on a 9-point run. EU 21 - WSU 16 at the under 8 media timeout.

Halftime Score: Evansville 39 - WSU 28; Guard DJ Ballentine leads Evansville with 11 points off the bench

                      • I sure hope the Shocks don't catch whatever is afflicting Valley teams far today.

Indiana State was 8-16 (50.0%) from the line which just about cost them the Iona game. The Gaels were 18-21 (85.7%).

Missouri State was only slightly better at 16-30 (53.3%) in their win over Eastern Michigan.

And during the 1st half of their game Evansville has hit only 4-8 (50.0%) from the line.

                        • CU looking very beatable, both today snd March 2.

McDermott might score 20 against St. Mary's, but he's going to give up 40. St. Mary's is going at him on every posession and getting layup after layup off of it.

I wouldn't be surprised if Creighton is on a two game losing streak when we play them, almost think it's more likely then not.

Do they do conditioning in Omaha?
