Pick Em Contest games for Dec. 29th and 30th

You get ten points to play with for each set of Valley games. You must put at least one point but no more than 4 points on each game. Changes in predictions are allowed as long as they are made before tip off of the first game. I will keep score throughout the year. Join now! Late comers will be allowed but of course they will be behind on points for the year.

Once again we will have a regular season and a post season contest. To participate in the post season contest your final score must be one of the ten best point scores including ties. In the past this means several more than ten get to participate in the post season tournment contest. So if you get off to a poor start, dont give up! I'm actually going to get started in the first week for hte first time ever. It's tough to come back from missing a week.

I really hate only giving WSU 1 over UNI, but UE/CU is a mortal lock. SIU/MSU is - well, it's really cruel. 5 years after firing Hinson, MSU has gone from a consistent top-50 program to a 330-range RPI going into league play.

The first conference game brings Barry back to SpringPatch with what was supposed to be the worst team in the league. SIU is knocking on the door of a top-100 RPI, but the game against MSU will kill that. How can anyone possibly bet for MSU?

That leaves no option but to give WSU 1 over UNI, which has proven to be a disappointing pretender. That should have been apparent from bringing back an entire squad that went 9-9 with no players having much upside from what they had already done.

UNI recruits a lot of unathletic guys with great BBIQ. Those guys tend to hit their ceiling in HS or early in D1.

I'd sooner have EO than Adam Koch. Koch has a huge advantage in career stats, but we've been able to watch EO's painfully slow progress. UNI fans have been able to watch Koch's painful lack of progress. The athletic guys that WSU recruits (who never needed BBIQ in HS) gain BBIQ in college. The unathletic guys with BBIQ don't become more athletic in college.

UNI is the perfect example of a 9-9 team that returns about everybody, but finishes below the previous year because the rest of the league had players who improved over their careers.
