If I was being optimistic in the preseason I would have given away the VCU game and maybe one in cancun. I also would give away one of two between Tennessee or smu. That would be 9-3 non con. That would have been a decent start to me given the unknowns coming into this season. After that I would have picked us 14-4 in the mvc because I would expect things to come together for a 2nd place finish.
That even seemed optimistic to me. Now we are 9-0 and at least 11-1 seems to be expected if not 12-0 going into conference play.
This is better than I had hoped. Anyone who was expecting 11-1 or 12-0 and a valley title in the preseason was even more optimistic than me and that is borderline crazy :)
As of now, I think the sky is the limit. Marshall managed to out perform a crazy optimist in myself. That guy is the man.Comment
