We're in worse financial condition now with worse attendance than the 90s.

      Worse.

The consequences of ******g this thing up apparently weren't seriously considered, if at all, because, hey, it couldn't get worse than HCIB right (as if the 90's never were)? Oh, wait...

That team shoulda won a Natty. If only we didn't share the state with the biggest hypocritical *****-ass tattlin' chickens on earth...
What's the connection to KU other than the Kansas City Star? Wasn't it a Wichita doctor who set the ball rolling? Got kicked out of the locker room by Smithson and then went to the KC Star with exaggerated claims of violations?

        Whatever happened to that guy?

Was his name Patrick Beamer? That would explain A LOT.

The difference in the game then and today....lol......how about the traveling call on X around the 3L:40 mark? That might be a lob call today (and it was wrong in '85) and the male cheerleader for Tulsa has zero idea how close he came to losing all his teeth. He would definitely be warned for that today, if not kicked out. Of course today, that guy is gay and doesn't have the first ****ing clue how the game is played or care about the outcome.

Also the 5 second count at the 10 minute mark is off by about 5 seconds.

I don't know anything about the doctor referred to above. WSU was punished for the pettiest of petty crimes. And they were given draconian penalties for those crimes. You don't need to be a forensic accountant to follow the how and why that happened.

To be fair, WSU was cheating at the time, and the house built for AC's mom is proof. That being said, ku was and is without question one of the filthiest programs in the history of all sport. Doug Compton, a slime ball of a person, started in the bar business, living off children getting drunk, undoubtedly many underaged at the time (back then 18 was the age but plenty of 17 year old freshmen and local high schoolers were known to frequent his bars) when it was commonplace to see anyone able to put their money on the counter get served in any bar. He then graduated to being a well known bookie with likely ties to the KC mob who had their button men controlling all the action in the area at the time. Mind you, this was common knowledge amongst many of the staff at ku and probably half the student population at the time. Players routinely lined up at DC's watering holes to pick up their weekly cash allotment. Often times LB himself (who was caught cheating at, I believe, every single coaching stop he made in the NCAA) would be pouring drinks when the players got paid, LB scouting for the youngest coed he could find (not blaming LB, just pointing out he knew what was going on and was actively involved). DC parlayed those days into more and more bars etc making himself a mint from ruining thousands of livers in the greater Lawrence area (I think he's also owned several strip clubs in the area, which would make a tremendous amount of sense given his reputation and love of cash businesses and taking advantage of young people and using women to further his endeavors) and of course (unless things have changed in the last few years) is currently Billy's neighbor in Lowrentz and a close if not best personal friend. If you need to cheat to bring in the Jimmys and Joes, it's really helpful to have a bagman friend next door who has spent a lifetime in cash businesses and is willing to sell his soul for literally anything to help you out. They are the worst of the worst, and for anyone remotely related to that cesspool to point the accusing finger at ANYONE else is the highest form of hypocrisy but yet absolutely no surprise coming from that shithole that's crammed full of scum and soullessness.

I didn't miss a single game when I started attending mid 90's. I have missed more than I have attended this year.

Could the official making those calls be Ron Zetcher? One of the worst showboating refs of his era?
