In a recent article by Eldridge, Mills said the guys need to pass the ball from side to side more often and dribble less.

So I wathed for what they were doing in that area tonight. Yhere was no one to pass to. As soon as one of the "dribble and penetrate" guys got the ball everybody else went toward the baseline and there wa no one to take a pass. I've watched a lot of teams this year that pass the ball until the defense gets behind on recovering and someone is open for a shot or a drive to the basket. At WSU it's just one guy dribbling until he gets doubled and then there's no one to pass to. Eventually another "dribble and penetrate" guy goes out near half court and tries the same thing that didn't work for the first guy.

Mills has never had good defensive teams. He doesn't know how to coach defense.

Our only hope is he can find a Max Abmas level player

I don't think I can waste any more time watching a team that gets blown out at home by UMKC and a USF team who lost at home to freaking Bethune and can barely beat Stetson.

I don't want Mills to find another Max Abmas or a Fred VanVleet or a Ron Baker. I don't want players with that talent to be wasted here or for there to be any reason for Mills to be kept any longer than necessary. His brand of basketball and coaching isn't ever going to work at this level. If by some miracle it does, I will happily admit I was wrong.

When they sense a double team they make two quick passes for an open three. When we get doubled it's usually a disaster. No ball movement. We are way to selfish.

Of USF 12-26 made 3s, they were mostly wide open. Like playing horse?

I used to be on board with the idea that we are stuck with Mills until at least April 2026 (when payments to Brown end), but at this point I almost think finding a high school coach and paying him $350k per year stands a higher likelihood of producing a decent team than Mills.

This. Is. AWFUL. I thought this program hit bottom with some of the Brown teams, but this is way, way worse.
