"Ralph Miller was one of the finest coaches in the history of intercollegiate basketball. His teams were always fundamentally sound, team oriented, well conditioned, and ran both their offense and defense with great patience. I know of no coach whose teams competed against his, whether it be at Wichita State, Iowa, or Oregon State, who did not have great respect for him."—John Wooden

Originally posted by WholeWheat View PostHi all. Have enjoyed this board for a long time and finally decided to join the merry band of Shocker faithful. Though my collection of memorabilia is small, I found one item online that I am most pleased with and would love to share... Just need to get it digitized first. I came across Arizona State's version of the game film from Nov. 15, 1986 and couldn't pass it up.

I have, somewhere, a pair of Ozell Jones' MTXE white basketball shorts. They would be short on a kid let alone a college hoopster. I got to know Joe Banks when we borrowed WSU football equipment for an intra-fraternity football game. He called one day and asked if I wanted to be a runner for ABC when they did the WSU vs Tulsa game that weekend, and of course I did. Got to play catch with Steve Davis. One of the perks was I was given one of the giant ABC Sports banners. Joe wanted it so they could hang it over in Levitt, so he gave me one Ozell's old uniforms in trade. The jersey has gone missing, but the shorts are still in the drawer.
RIP Joe and Ozell.

I'm sure they're relatively common, but I have one of the old Wu Shock whiskey decanters. Received it last year as a Christmas gift and it proudly stands featured in my room. May not be much of a collectible, but it's still a fun piece of memorabilia.Three things in life are constant- death, taxes, and Creighton losing in the first weekend of the tournament.
AAC or Bust!

A couple of my favorite items are a 1948 game played football autograped by the team which include Eddie Kriwiel (quarterback), Jimmy Nutter and Herb Eddington (halfbacks) and many others. I also like a shocker pennant from the 40's with WU holding a sickle with blood on it ---obviously wouldn't meet today's standards of sportsmanship."Hank Iba decided he wouldn't play my team anymore. He told me that if he tried to get his team ready to play me, it would upset his team the rest of the season." Gene Johnson, WU Basketball coach, 1928-1933.
