    Gottlieb and THE PROCESS

    Felt like an update on two of the " favorites" on here might be in order... first, THE PROCESS...
    I still think he's got to be a piece of work, but he DOES have a million dollar contract with the Wizards, though he's currently in the G League... always had skills .... still IS THE PROCESS?

    Gottlieb, I believe, constantly belittled Fred as a player, IIRC....Fred has gone on to great things while Gottlieb is getting it handed to him at Green Bay, recently by Michigan TECH... next game... Drake... could get ugly...

    He didn’t “constantly belittle” Fred. IIRC he wasn’t that high on him after his performance at SLU (a game DG called, and to be fair, was not Fred’s best game as he had four turnovers).

    It was fairly innocuous commentary and set the stage for a ton of immature insults and hatred from Shocker fans. He was in fact very complimentary during our game against Gonzaga in 2013. But a loud portion of our fanbase suffers from a crippling inferiority complex and couldn't take someone giving their honest opinion, even if it was incorrect, without jumping down their throats.

      Guess he shouldn't have referred to Michigan Tech as "Nobody U" before hand.

        I recall some comments before the draft about Fred never making it in the NBA. Not sure why you constantly feel the need to stick up for him.
        Shocker fan for life after witnessing my first game in person, the 80-74 win over the #12 Creighton Bluejays at the Kansas Coliseum.

          I don’t recall that, but even if he did, so what?

          Fred was not drafted (I understand he essentially had a choice there), but even then…it’s not like he was a surefire lottery pick at the time in addition to being only 6’ tall. In fact, some people on this board were more high on Baker’s NBA prospects than VanVleet’s. Draft projections are difficult to get right even for people who watch basketball all day and night.

          My point is that Doug Gottlieb, or any other analyst for that matter, doesn’t “have it out” for WSU like you want to believe. If he doesn’t have it out for us and is just giving an honest opinion, maybe consider not calling him “Goatlube” (was never funny).

            I guess I disagree with you in that MOST don't have it out for WSU(or any other school, but he seems to relish in stirring the pot in order to make himself 'known'...like Rome, maybe, but without the talent....

              I don't remember the DG stuff, but I've always believed most media heads dislike WSU because of the Koch connection. Do I have proof? Nope. But when your arena is named after Koch, it wouldn't take much for the media to see Koch = WSU.

                I disliked DG long before his comments about FVV. He's always been a blubbering idiot with no talent and only gets publicity by stirring the pot.

                It's been nice not hearing about him or seeing his name mentioned for quite some time, up until his loss to Nobody U.

                Now I hope he fades back into obscurity for me and the next thing I see/hear about him is when I'm updating the coaching carousel in the not too distant future.

                  The Gottlieb stuff went beyond that Fred and the SLU game. During our games where he was the analyst, he would make patronizing comments towards our team and do the whole "Wheeeeeeat Shockers" thing which was pretty annoying. I don't know that our fanbase has an inferiority complex just because we talk a little smack on analysts that put our team down. I would think that just about any team with passionate fans would do the same. We love our team and have an underdog mentality.

                  At this point though, he's pretty low hanging fruit that I kind of feel sorry for but I still enjoy a good laugh at his expense. He's like the real life Michael Scott. When he made the comments about bringing diversity and the white man's perspective to the broadcast, you could just feel the tension
