I didn't see an appropriate topic in which to add this. I'm not planning to do this for any other player (not saying I won't), but Justin Hill's recent play got me to crunching some numbers

    Code:
               First 5 Last 6 Change
    PPG 17.4 11.3 -6.1
    FG% 42.2 36.0 -6.2
    3FG% 29.0 25.9 -3.1
    Assists 4.8 2.0 -2.8
    Turnovers 1.2 2.2 +1.0
    Rebounds 4.8 2.7 -2.1
A very clear drop in production. Every single one of those went the wrong way. For a PG, only the 3FG% isn't significant, but partly because it was already subpar.

I wish there was a stat for "unrealized assists", which counts passes to open shooters who miss, or passes to players in position to score, but get fouled. That would give us a better idea as to whether the drop in assists can be attributed to him, or teammates missing shots.

Back in the day, Mark‘s staff would unofficially/on-their own keep track of “half-assists,” which are exactly what you mentioned.
