Two games ago a young lady approached my wife and I and asked if we would like to be fans of the game. My wife shot daggers at me since she hates anything that brings attention to he. She may be in the witness protection program for all I know but the woman hates it when others even wear bright clothing that draws attention to them. So luckily I missed that bullet of maki8ng a horrible cheer. I did thank her later

Why do we offer buyout clauses we can't afford to serve? We're structuring long term contracts in an old school manner that we can't afford to move on from. Hiring coaches is an educated guess at best, and a crapshoot most of the time. We have to structure contracts assuming this reality.

Start with, from what I can tell, I think KS has done a good job (2 exceptions) to this point.
1. KS absolutely had to fire IB. Don’t care what others say, he needed to go. He ran on GM’s coattails and his players long enough-everything was about to implode, imo. (Not going to get into an argument with someone on this).
2. KS’s Alma Mater, K State, had an incredible first year with Tang…soon on their way to an elite 8.
3. Baylor wins a natty a couple years earlier.
4. KS naturally thinks that style is the right formula for championships. (Drew/Tang).
5. Abmas makes Mills look like a coaching genius. Perhaps if Mills gets hired away from ORU, Abmas comes with him. (Abma$ ultimately goes to Texa$).
5. KS hires Mills, thinking he gets Tang 2.0
6. 1.5 years at WSU (and Tang 2.5 years at KSU), neither can duplicate Baylor’s success because to win, you need Baylor-type talent…none of which either school will get.
7. Now we are stuck. Bad hire, really bad. Not to mention the other exception mentioned above-which would be the Women’s HC. (You mean to tell me there isn’t some Kansas HS girl who can shoot, who could play for that team?)
Two bad hires, that unless daddy warbucks walks in the door, we are stuck with. Nicely done, KS.
