Yep. I’m going to guess this extension was solely based on his ability to woo donors. It sure wasn’t due to actual wins and losses.

That’s a positive sign if true. Maybe things look gruesome from this side of things, but hopefully he’s able to get a more positive outlook from the inside?

So far i think ADKS has done a lot of good .. just not with hiring decision (jury still out on Green though). Maybe he just needs to offload that process next time.

No brainer. Delegate that small task to SN. We are super cheap!

I was curious how Shockernet would have done with the hire that wound up being Mills.

I'm not going to go through this entire thread to see who the consensus Shockernet picks would have been, but I recall three names that, towards the end, seemed like reasonable candidates (i.e., in our price range): Kellen Sampson; Adrian Griffin, and Amir Abdul Rahim.

Kellen doesn't have a head-coaching record to gauge how that pick would have been.

Griffin went 30-13 as the Milwaukee Bucks' coach last season and was in second place in the Eastern Conference before they let him go midseason for some purported internal tension in the team. The Bucks went 19-10 the remainder of the regular season under (mostly) Doc Rivers.

Abdur-Rahim wound up being hired at USF for last season where he did great, going 16-2 in the American and winning the league. Unfortunately, he died during a medical procedure this fall.

You forgot about DeVries. There were rumors WSU made a run at him but he was not interested.

There were some worried about going after Prohm, because Saal has personal relationship with him.

Then there was the dark horse that never got a chance - Bob Richey.

Still crazy that we never went for Griffin. He verbally said he wanted it, and in my experience, that want and willingness to express it goes a LONG way toward success. Compared to chilling with a hand in the pocket.

I didn't list Devries or Kelsey because they shot us down earlier in the process because we didn't have enough to spend.

I was at that game with the old guy, and I was fine playing along for him. When I realized they were still doing at the KSU game, I was mortified! Honestly it’s more embarrassing to me than the Umkc loss.

At least the stupid cheer is only witnessed by those in the arena and not the many more watching elsewhere. That alone makes the KC loss more embarrassing.
