      • This truly is sad, but let me offer Shocker Nation ONE reason to step back from the ledge.. at least for tonight.

Herd mentality, along with extreme negative sentiment, causes capitulations in the market that when consistently faded, can offer a fella a really good livin'. What "we" (not me) saw tonight, could very well be our program's bottom. You will remember Houston's program's V-bottom that printed on the very night we beat them like a rented mule. Sampson said he had never been beaten worse.

So... if tonight wasn't the bottom, it might be very close. Hang in there just a wee bit longer and see if human nature doesn't once again illustrate it's amazing predictability.

However, if we go on a listless losing streak for weeks, then... it might be wrist-slittin' time. Or, you could just check out until the trendline points solidly up again. It's your life.

I enjoyed the HELL out of that ride. Drank it up to the last Atlanta drop. What Marshall did for the Shocker program.. hell, the University, will NEVER be forgotten. I feel blessed to have been a part of the run. No regrets!

          • For 35 minutes they didn't even look like they were trying.

Mills thought he had to bring his own strength and conditioning guy in. Must have thought the players would be too strong if he didn't make a change. I don't think I've ever seen a team get the ball ripped away from them as often as this team does.

            I'm not a big fan of concentrating on tiny details instead of just getting a good shot. If the guys are thinking they should have received a pass 6" to the left of where they were when they caught it, that's not going to help them make the shot. I'm afraid the team is so hung up on nit picky details that they miss the big picture of executing anything resembling an offense. That and the BBIQ of some on this team seems to be an empty box under the Christmas tree disguising as a present;
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

            • Paul Mills is a ****ing dipshit if he honestly believes he is coaching this team to win a game.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

I agree. It was fantastic. It just hurts knowing it’s over and you can never get it back.

I try to remind myself of that while enjoying the Mahomes era the Chiefs are currently in, because that too will come to an end one day.

                • I got home at 8 and was warned not to watch. But I did and I regret every minute I wasted.

I'm done with Mills, his YMCA-level offense, his inability to make adjustments.

I'm done with Hill at PG. Half the time he makes it into the lane he loses the ball, his balance, his shoes or his shorts.

I'm done with Hill, Bell and Beverly's inability or refusal to pass the ball.

I'm done with players who refuse to rebound correctly.

I'm done with guards who can't shoot.

I'm done until Saturday when I'll have calmed down and won't be able to resist the temptation to subject myself to another two hours of frustration.

The loss to Alcorn State was worse.

                        But this is really bad.

Yep. Mills thinks they played hard for 8 minutes so that’s OK and they can build on it.

                          no, I’m not kidding.
Brummett throws, STRUCK HIM OUT! THE SHOCKERS ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! AN UNBELIEVABLE STORY!

I really don't think it was. UMKC was 272 in Kenpom before this game, Alcorn state was 247. The final scores might have been close, but we were never down a ton to Alcorn. We were absolutely run off our own court (DOWN 23 at one point) by a bottom dweller team today.

So this was definitely worse than the Alcorn State game.

Alcorn State felt like rock bottom at the time, but Mills came in.. brought his jackhammer and plowed through that rock so we could go even lower.

                            • I know it's not a popular stance here, but Isaac Brown could have done this and for a lot less money.

                              • Got home around 8:30 and tried to find the game on espn+. Wasn't there. After reading all these posts I can't make myself watch it tomorrow. I think this team is a reflection of it's coach. Poor fundamentals, no fire, and way to much individualism. Seven assists tonight. That says a lot. I've always been one of the programs biggest fans for close to 70 years now. I'll continue to watch but my emotional investment has noticeably declined. I am hoping ZP gets the start Saturday. Hill has, well, gone down hill since game one. PM is clearly in over his head.
