The easiest way to create goodwill regarding the parking situation for those attending the game (the issue with students and faculty is a different one to handle) would be simply to run buses on the campus route FOR EVERY SINGLE HOME GAME. Buses, as in multiple, and going by all the lots around campus that aren't SASO restricted. Start them an hour and a half before game time. Run them for at least 45 minutes after the game is over. And run enough of them that the wait isn't terribly long, which might mean putting 4 or more in service at the peak times. I've used the normally running campus bus at times, and it works nicely, but I think they only run a couple normally. Unless we want to put in a Simpsons monorail...

The cheer squad took Pyper under their wings and included her in every aspect of their game time routine. Got ready in the locker room, warming up, walking the concourse with the fans, sideline cheers, timeouts on the court....everything! Much more than we ever expected. And she loved every second. Told us on the way home "This was the best day of my life". Couldn't agree more.
Over the past few years, I have been down on our BB team. Remembering what we had and where it has (had?) fallen to. For me, last night was a reminder as to what's important. Something I had forgot. Pyper was surrounded by student athletes who truely love their sport and their university. They represented themselves and WSU in a way that filled my heart. Made me so proud. I'm holding onto that feeling.
Thanks to everyone who was at Koch last night. All of you helped make Pyper's Shocker dream come true. We have one happy, and worn out, little girl!
Also, a special thanks to April and Nate who head up our cheerleaders. We're forever grateful for your hospitality.

Best I've seen the shocks play in a few years. Better ball movement. I'd like to see some cuts to the hoop when we are driving the ball inside though. Too many times I see us drive and draw double or triple teams inside but everyone else seems to just stand around the perimeter. We had a couple times in this game where someone made the cut though. So maybe more to come.
But nice game for a change. Enough to give me a little hope of things to come.

A nice article from Taylor on Jaden.
Eagle - 'Always love': Former Shocker Jaden Seymour cherished Roundhouse return as ETSU star
Not much of Jaden Seymour’s one season with the Wichita State men’s basketball team could be considered normal.
He signed to play for Gregg Marshall, hung through a coaching change to Isaac Brown just before the season, endured an entire season that was significantly altered by the coronavirus pandemic and witnessed the power of camaraderie as the team won the program’s first and only American Athletic Conference championship to date.
Wichita State ended up not being the right fit for Seymour’s basketball career, but he still cherishes the friendships forged during that 2020-21 season. He is still particularly close to Ricky Council IV, who now plays in the NBA for the Philadelphia 76ers.
“Ricky is still one of my best friends,” Seymour said. “That whole group was just special. That’s what I always say every time when I talk about Wichita. That was just a special team to be on. We just had insane chemistry. We were a close group. I’ll always have love for those guys.”Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan
RIP Guy Always A Shocker
Carpenter Place - A blessing to many young girls/women
ICT S.O.S - Great local cause fighting against human trafficking
Wartick Insurance Agency - Saved me money with more coverage.
Save Shocker Sports - A rallying cry

I don't see the issue being ticket prices so much although I understand the consternation and concept. But selling 3,000 more tickets per game at $10 each won't make a huge dent in a $7,000,000 alleged need. Tickets to every Shocker athletic event, except men's basketball are quite reasonable. But Shocker men's basketball season tickets are the means for funding a significant part of the Shocker athletic program including the cost of attendance for the athletes from all sports. That is where we are getting killed financially not to mention our penchant for paying guys not to coach. Seems to me like the entire concept of how to fund a D-1 athletic program at Wichita State needs to be revisited and challenged. Unfortunately, the conclusion night not be one most fans want to hear. In fact, I am not sure this is something Wichita State or most other schools on the outside looking in can solve on their own. Maybe Jay Bilas has some ideas of how this can be fixed at the macro level.

Originally posted by Dan View PostIt seems like the current administration, including the coach, feel Ike they came into a program with enormous fan support. The opposite it true. They came into a program with fan apathy and they have to rebuild it, just as Schaus and Turgeon did. That starts with fundraising and winning. They need to be creative, ticket giveaways, promotions, ticket specials, etc.

What Schaus and Turgeon did was laudable. Especially, Jim Schaus' leadership. But the were operating in a totally different environment for college athletics in those day. I just don't see how you can project what happened 20-25 years ago as a solution to the problems Wichita State faces in today's college athletics and media environment.

I get that they can't pull off $10 tickets. But even if they tiered out the pricing more with something like highest three rows in Koch arena are $5 cheaper each, it would make a difference. Show that you are willing to make a concession to fans who just want to get their families into the building, no matter how bad the seat is.
